In the lead up to each season, I become filled with anticipation for the upcoming months of footy ahead. Along with this anticipation comes excitement, but is additionally accompanied by nerves- a feeling that had developed and blossomed during the 2002-2007 period. When the upcoming fixture becomes available, one of the first things I do is scroll down the fixture until I spot the following encounters- Essendon* (first and foremost), Collingwood, Hawthorn, and Richmond. Those are the games that I look forward to the most each year (regardless of ladder position), and 2010 is no exception. Understandably, the feeling is likely to be mutual that most of us most look forward to games against the main rivals in Essendon*, Collingwood, and to an extent, Richmond. However, I do not know what it is- matches against Hawthorn always thrill me, regardless of how badly they have beaten us over the past couple of seasons.

On the other hand, 2010 is quite different in terms of my excitement for our clashes against Essendon*. I have a feeling that we will get our payback, in fact I KNOW that we will topple them and how sweet it will be. You could almost say that the match that I am most looking forward to all year is our Round 3 fixture against the Bombers under lights at the MCG.

How about yourselves?

Both Essendon* games.....I really want to crush the bombers and silence their duffle coated teenybopper fan base and shove it up some of my mates who are rabid Essendon* supporters. I still regard 1999 as a premiership season such is my hatred for Essendon* and Kevin Sheedy.

I agree.

If I had to pick one, how about the first game Juddy plays after his suspension.

Rnd 1 for starters...

I always look forward to the Collingwood games and also the challenging ones against better teams....

I can't look forward to the Essendon* ones cos the pricks have the wood on us ATM..

i'm looking forward to panting brisbane on a thursday night in july as pay back for round two should we go down (and last years final).

by then we should be motoring i reckon.

could be a bit thin with judd and the 3 stoogers out for round two but anything could happen so looking forward to that one too.

the anzac day cats game should be huge.. just huge. for me that my fav fixture of our whole season - just sits out like a sore thumb and should be a classic I reckon.

Agreed. Now that they haven't got Nancy Prancey and that other 'thing', their forward line in Angus Morefrees & co could seem to struggle. Can't wait to stick it up their teenybopper fan base good and properly. I will go absolutely nuts and not one Essendon* supporter leaves the MCG without a dose of their own medicine

I have to say, both Essendon* games mean the most to me as well, especially the first one without Juddy, our backs will be against the wall with plenty to prove.

Yep, and I think the "underdog" mentality going into the game will help us immensely. Last couple of times we played them we were heavily favoured to win and look what happened. All I can say is, look out Essendon*. If we can get up for that game without Juddy, it would remind me of the Round 3, 2001 clash with no Kouta.
