What's been revealed now about our Leadership group is how I've always pictured it. A bunch of young guys with no other choice but to take on responsibility too early because the guys older than them act like children. Like many situations where someone has to babysit someone older than them, they freeze up when push comes to shove. When Fev or Stevo were on the rampage, I couldn't imagine them taking instructions from someone like Murph particularly seriously. I'd only really picture Waite and Simpson as the types to have the potential to sink the boot in where necessary, but even they'd get shooshed down.

As much as I love Juddy, and feel his captaincy is beyond question, I can't see him ever doing anything more than saying "Come on guys, settle down...come on...guys....seriously guys, calm down...guys". This is what happened at WC, where he was forced to lead a pack of arrogant, immature young men worshipped by those around them and given free reign by the people in charge. The same has happened at CFC, and we can only hope that this is a turning point for Juddy as a leader of men.

I agree

Do i think Juddy be stripped of the captaincy? I do but only if a better suitor is amongst them who can get every single player reading from the same page but im not sure Juddy can do that. The best footballers don't necessarily make great captains.

And you might as well piss him off to Richmond as well

Leave it with Juddy until Cotchin is ready to take over.

This morning on ABC Radio Crackers makes the best media comment I've heard on Carlton for a long time. Something like

"Carlton has taken some strong action at last and the Club's looking a lot better. I was talkin' to a great man who's coached Carlton and he says the Club's handled the situation very well. One more stuffup and they're out."

and

"You pay these guys $200,000 a year to be professional footballers. It's time they started acting like it."

Yeah Rafa,

I just got mine too. I'd be interested to hear what others think of the email. Personally (as someone who is critical of our communications) I thought it was timely and professional, and made me feel good that there was a response to my email of complaint to the club prior to Christmas. More than happy with what came through from Chris on the whole matter (although I may be in the minority on this!)

I was happy with a reply, but I'm not one to take much notice of words, more actions which the email speak of:

"Unfortunately that takes time, and all I can offer today is words. But I pledge that our actions in the future will do justice to the commitment we have made to the Carlton Football Club."

Well the guys on sports today have opened the program asking people if Chris Judd's reputation has been tarnished. Both Dwayne Russel and Tony SHaw both believe he has let his self down.

Dwayne Russell and Tony Shaw would be mad if they didn't use this thread for material.

Another slow news day from the cauliflower at The Hun

Chris Judd moves to ease tension

On the cruise, rookie-listed player Levi Casboult was handcuffed to a seasoned drinker and pressured into drinking.

And how many times have they told us that :banghead:

Notice the change from the original "forced" to "pressured".

Its not like the Herald Sun to sex up a story is it?

When did they stop being a newspaper, and turn into a gossip rag?

..probably the time we [society] stopped caring as much about issues, and started livin' vicariously thru the 'celebrities'..

Chris Judd is a brilliant leader on the field and with his professionalism.

Where he fails as a leader is his 'each to their own mentality' where if you wanna be a dick head, be a dick head, its not my life. He isn't one to tell others how to conduct them selves away from the club.

He wasn't comfortable with being named captain but what ever Dick Pratt wants he gets.

Ok.

So he's stripped of the captaincy.

Who else on our list displays the same leadership on the field and at training? Who else on our list leads by example?

Because looking over the list, I can't see anyone.
