Another year, another series of amazing flashbacks in the outstanding history of the Carlton Football Club:

100 years ago - 1910
Carlton suffers from a Bribery Scandal, but went ever so close over 1909 and 1910 to 5 flags after the 1906-1908 three-peat

Grand Final miracle? Brilliant coaching? Who cares...Premiership #10!

Blues miss out on the GF despite coming 2nd, only to win the next 2 flags. Jezza and Harris leave in acrimony....

Kouta's Golden Run wasn't enough to get us in the Grand Final. Woewodin wins the Brownlow...

Good one Blueseum! Thanks for that history and information!

The other day I was actually wondering if 1970 was the only premiership we had won in a year ending with a zero. It turns out that it was. And I think that we have also failed to make any other grand finals in years ending with a zero too. Still, the once we did make it was pretty worthwhile

I also think that from surfing on the Blueseum I am correct in saying that we have never won a premiership in a year ending in the number three. I am hoping that 2013 will change that for us

From memory we lost the 1910 GF to Collingwood, which was our first against them. The five times we've subsequently beaten them in GF's (1915, 1938, 1970, 1979, 1981) eases the pain a bit. :smoking:

Yes, it's been 100 years since Collingwood has beaten us in a Grand Final....

And you remember that Jack? Was that your last year at Carlton?

From memory, I was on my way to Essendon* at that stage...things got a bit grim with the players in '09, and I 'resigned' on 29 July of that year.

It's nice to be back though! :smoking:
