Back to basics I say!

Let's have 'em hung drawn and quartered publically.

That way the club benefits from being seen to be disciplined and scares the shit out of any other player who might transgress.

On top of that. the club could benefit financially. Let's charge admission to the event. The concept works its arse off in Saudi Arabia, so I can't think of any reason why it won't take off here, judging by some of the moralising I've seen on TC about this issue.

And before anyone thinks I didn't consider the possibility, I ruled out burning the three of them at the stake. Martyrs can become very tedious.

My suspicion is Fevolas departure was the doing of a Swann/Icke/bean counters resolution ...and and sticks still privately has the ear of Jack despite the public facade.
Good things: Credit Swann/Icke
Bad things: Debit Sticks

I wouldn't employ you as a bean counter Budsy

JE would be proud of creative accounting like this.

Sticks is going to send the players involved a strongly worded email. A copy will be read out at the press conference, then canapes will be served (limit of 2 per media rep).

We dont need to know the ins and outs of what happened and the intimate details shouldn't be released.

We just need to know the matter has been dealt with what steps are taken so it doesn't happen again.

1) Detailed set of events as to what happened that night, and if news comes to hand as to it being false (eg Houlihan and Walker lying about what happened at the Crown) then those lying are sacked.

2) If the details warrant a suspension then the players must be suspended. No "next time", no "last chance", they need to be shown that there are consequences to actions. Act like a knob and you lose the privledge of playing for the CFC. That said, if ALL that happened is that Betts was walking down the street and got caught up in an Alcohol blitz (which was going on at the time in the City) or if the "man panties" incedent was a spat between a guy and his Missus, with Walker getting caught in the middle, and no further actions are warranted in the form of suspensions then so be it. Don't punish them further if it isn't warranted

3) New standards regarding alcohol, players behaviour and curfews need to be put into place. IF Betts wasn't out at what, 2-4 am, then he wouldn't have been in a situation to be thrown into jail. If Houlihan and Walker wern't plastered after a booze cruise then noone would know Houlihan wears man panties. The playing group needs to decide on a new set of standards at which the playing group MUST be held to. Hopefully the group has enough brain cells that these new standards are acceptable to the Board, and there must be consequences for breaking these standards. When all is said and done the playing group needs to be held accountable to each other, and value must be placed on the accountability to the group. I hoped this was done when Fev was shown the door, but it may very well need to be reenforced.

When all is said and done we need full disclosure as to what happened, tough penalties IF they are warranted and new standards with real consequences if they are broken.

Nothing much will happen.

MAybe a couple player suspensions, a closed door meeting with sticks yelling is head off making some threats and that will be about it.

Not much else u can do unless u want to destroy the 2010 season and you wont want to do that looking at a bit of debt to pay back next year.

Sticks will do sweet FA and then tell the media they had a very long and serious discussion. He may get realy serious and pull out the wet lettuce leaves to slap them with. After all that they will probably have a bonding session at the pub.
this should have been dealt with 2 weeks ago!

Get them all out on the track and training , ready for season 2010 .

I'm more interested in what a couple of clubs are going to do with players that are facing CRIMINAL charges .

Any word from the club yet?

Is it massive, or do we have to wait until Friday to find out?

Anyone know anything.

I thought The Age website would have blood splattered on it by now.

Has he pulled out the wooden spoon to smack their bum bums?

Has he KO'd any of them?

Has he suspended any of them? Real games or just Mickey Mouse games?

Today was the day, right?? (and yes I know it is not Friday)

Knowing what I know about Kernahan, he'll probably be forward about it and stand by his men.

The silence is annoying....and maybe even worrying.

There is a PC this afternoon.

We'll know more by the end of the day I would think.

I would suspend all 4 for 3 weeks - they can resume when the Skip does.

All 4 are replaceable.
