I know this was locked Mrs Caz, Warnock , but there appears some truth behind the post.

Quote:
Warnock is currently undergoing rehab from a post-season shoulder clean-out, but is expected to be into full training around Christmas time with a view to being ready to take part in the Blues' practice match schedule in the new year.

I think it was initially locked because of a false rumor regarding Warnock's ankle. His ankle is fine and his shoulder surgery was minor and known about for quite some time. In fact post-season shoulder clean-outs for AFL footballers hit an all time record this year. Unfortunately, it does restrict Warnock from some upper-body weight work for a few weeks, but fingers crossed we won't have to continue taping him up Bruce Reid style and he can get out on the paddock.

When Robbie pulled out of the Ants prelim for shoulder surgery the club hoped that he would be thereabouts by the time pre-season training started but realistically might've been 2-3 weeks into the program before he was ready to train @ 100%
This now seems to be stretching out a touch which is disappointing but generally, Robbie seems to be progressing. He has been training since Nov 2

Basically Warnock was recruited to be a star ruckman and consequently got a 3 year deal that is way more generous than would be expected for a 23 year old with 20 games behind him. Injuries are bad luck either through circumstances or a body that gets injured easily. The Freeo fans seem to suggest he was injury prone. I expect him to be fit and firing (and earning his dough) round 1 next 2010. One thing you try and recruit for is durability which he didn't seem to have at Freeo. Let's hope he finds some soon.

Although one theory is that you have 4 rucks on your list because one is always injured so you need a second back up. Maybe we have recruited Warnock to be the one that is always injured, thereby keeping Hammo and Big K healthy

Gerard Healy just reported on 3AW (via "Whispers"), that Warnock has had a setback and won't train till January or February. Sure hope its wrong.

Yes I have heard that reported twice now. No official word as yet but I hope that there is nothing to the rumor. If so it will be disappointing to say the least!

None of the training reports so far have indicated his absence.

That's because he's been at all of them. ;)

Warnock on track for Blues debut

Quote:
Blues football operations manager Steven Icke said Warnock, who played 21 games for the Dockers, should be fit for the opening NAB pre-season clash against Sydney at Blacktown on February 20.

"Given that he is going to be in our full program from [this] week, we would expect him to be available for some of those games, if not all of those games," Icke said.

Great news reporting positive progress of Warnock's post season clean ups.

Another piece of the puzzle coming together for the Mighty Blues.

Fevola's gone, but...

Warnock ready for NAB
Judd back in round 4
Waite possibly back for round 1 or thereabouts
Jamison ready to start full training
Austin has recovered and built up his body
McLean adds more grunt to the midfield
Henderson recruited to give us a 10 year KPF
Yarran and Garlett seem to have stepped up during the preseason
Lucas adds pace, grunt and class etc etc

Warnock is the key imo.
His presence as the first ruck gives us 206cm of ruck strength and releases Kreuzer and Hampson for forward duties and general problems for the opposition MC.

I know he's going to make a big difference to our team over the next decade, just as the lanky, slow, uncoordinated Harry Madden did as he matured.

IMO Warnock taking the field in 2010 will give us the chance to cement a Top 4 position for the 2010 finals series.

I'm happy the rehab is a slow building type rehab... don't need any setbacks through over-eagerness.

Babysteps....

2010 is all about Warnock getting through this season without breaking down.

And showing he can play.

Warnock is Carlton's Gumbleton...
