You know things are bad when you're hoping for an AFL injunction

The club has been issued a please explain from the AFL and has until 11th January to respond. The AFL was critical of Carltons lack of forthcoming information and wants a full explanation as to what occurred and what the club is doing about it.

The same AFL people who took the international squad for a booze up at the races in Ireland - which ended up with drunk players and Fev misbehaving in a pub??????

Yeah do you blame them?
If youre buying memberships you shouldnt have to put up with shit.
And if youre a footballer you are providing a service. thats what youre paid to do.
Getting sloshed and being unprofessional means your output is substandard and that you are open to crtiticisms.

Substandard output is the norm at this club right now.
From the president through the CEO the footy dept and playing group.
They feed off each other.

Makes you smile dont you reckon?

unlike other things at the moment.

Made me laugh, actually. Wish Carlton could also fake their way out of this situation.

Nah like Mars Inc. mega US confectionary giant....might actually be true considering some ppl are claiming knowledge of the proposed sponsorship before the shite hit the fan.....and such a plot would be too cunning for Stix according to you anyway

fortunately club's marketabilty rebounds pretty quickly in this game.

WCE are not struggling for sponsors in their immediate post junkie era
Hawks recovered from the court injunction saga.
Chickengate involving Norfs captain was only 12 months ago - but its hardly stuck in everybodys mind
Tigers even got an extra sponsor when they signed up Cuzz.

The more I hear the angry I get.

Here's my solution.

On Jan 4 when they get back. They should be put on a bus, taken to the airport. Put on a Herc, flown to Perth, trucked to a certain training area and put through the SAS selection course. No contact with the outside world for three weeks. Period. Let them see what is required to be a true professional. If they want to arc up, then they can go onto Escape and evasion training, and a little interrogation ( I'll volunteer for the 'slapping' around bit) training.

I am seriously flowered off with these ass-clowns.

Run the flowers into the ground, ALONG with the entire administration. One in all in.

And yes, allow the fans to come along and join in the live firing exercises.

I am angry!

I think thats a nice start - also think that perhaps a regular shift helping out at the various drop in centres for alcohol dependency and soup vans might be a better use of their time.

Fines have been increased to $10k?

Surely we haven't increased it today? That would be professional suicide, talk about giving out a perception of bowing to media pressure.

But that's alright. It's Carlton, no journalistic integrity needed.

Mr Casboult speaks
So he was 'well looked after' and Mr Casboult is 'more than happy with the club'.

BTW, in that snippet Sticks also says the fine 'will be the least of their worries' on the 4th. Words don't come to mind, only...

When are we going to learn that fines mean little to players, what really hurts them is not being able to play ! Look at what happened with Fev, the club put their head in the sand for years and let him get away with many indiscretions. Surely now these players need to be dropped for an extended period if not sacked otherwise there is no deterent.

We are an absolute rabble at the moment and the laughing stock of the AFL. Things need to change now and drastic action needs to be taken for a change rather than petty little hand slaps.

All this just goes to show that all the posters who claimed that getting rid of the supposed rotten egg (Fev) would fix everything were way off the mark. Fev was just a small piece of the cog.

Unfortunately its going to be a very long season 2010 and beyond..................

I cant wait for the footy to be back on!
This thread sucks. I have lost more respect for some posters than the club.
Merry Christmas.

There's a fair chance Mr Casboult knows more about what happened that day than any of us, consequently he's not feeding the hype. bad news for the henny pennys out there... anyway, i'm off for lunch. happy festivus
