I'd like to propose a rally at Visy Park to demonstrate our anger and frustration at the current state of affairs at our beloved club. The purpose would not be to damage the club any further (ie slandering players, tearing up memberships, etc) but to let the current group know they have a responsibility to uphold our proud heritage and restore our good name. Club officials must also hear the message that cover-ups and lame excuses will no longer be tolerated. We DEMAND our club takes drastic action to NOW to change our club culture. Such a gathering would be a 'real-world' grass-roots reaction by fans, not just annonymous posts in cyberspace.

This is just an idea, I'm keen to hear what people think.

I'd go easy on getting the media involved and aim the rally at the management of the club rather than the players, but otherwise the idea is a good one.

Lets move our rally to Port Adelaide and lets say, I wish my club was like yours. And then we will go to Fremantle and do the same.

I would prefer a petition from members asking the Pres to stand down from what was meant to be a temporary appointed following the death of RP.

How many members signatures would it take ?

I don't mind the idea of some sort of protest, but I think it needs to be targetted to the right people. Not sure a rally at Visy Park will achieve the desired result, which is to ensure the club and players understand that plenty of supporters are over this poor player behaviour crap.

You better watch it the blue rinse set will slap you with their bags if you tried to get rid of Sticks,

I wonder if Sticks was pushed out whether there would be a group rally at Visy to keep him.

Pushed out it will have to be cos hes not leaving.

He promised he will leave if someone came along..... a club like Carlton would find it impossible to find a man more suitable to be prez than Sticks....hes just too smart.. too good... too valuable ... knows the world inside out.. has massive clout outside of this footy club.... just a born president...

So sticks is waiting for someone to come along who is better.. and thats as rare as hens teeth.. right???

So Synners in all seriousness....if enough members wanted to try and bring about change what is the process ?
Does a ticket have to be formed and the board spilled at an election or are there other options ?
Or are you just saying the "blue rinse" lovelies outnumber the rest?...bcoz not too many supporters from all walks of life that I have spoken too reckon that Stix is the sharpest tool in hte shed

It would take 100 signatures.. to force an extraordinary election
but should have been done a couple of months ago.
Youd need an alternative to put his hand up against him
and you basically need this board to either not vote him president (there might be a couple who would think about it.. but they will remembered as the Sticks murderes and so they really wouldnt wanna do it.
Or you vote him out in the next election he is standing. Each board member stands one every 3 years max

But more than likely you would need to blackmail him out somehow.
Or shoot him.

He aint leaving

I think he cant stay president for more than 8 years or something.... so he might even be here for another 7.....

... but im also sure that can be ammended too... so he gets to stay around longer.

Sticks may even do a Menzies on us.

Guyatt Park St Lucia, 2pm tomorrow. I'll go down now and sleep at the BBQ so no-one else steals our spot.

I love a good rally!

Make sure you're there.

Heres and idea - learn our constitution and by-laws then get support and run for the board.

Running around like madmen organising protests rallys etc makes us look like a complete rabble and regardless that we may be stop giving the media and those that hate us more opportunities to kick us.

Sticks is right to a degree we are Carlton F**k the rest. Basically what he said is spot on but we must ensure that we have our shit together - I dont care what any other club does, I care about what we do - stop looking at others becuase and following their lead because if thats what we do all we are is sheep.

Synners re read what I said - but to save you time I agree with what he said but if your gonna say it make sure as hell our shit is in order - we need to be the best on and off the field - quite simply if we have our shit together off the field the rest falls into place.

I just dont agree with airing our shit in public giving the amount of people who have knives out for us.
