If you can pull that 'record' up you are quoting I'd love to see it.

I will try and find it (not tonight as its getting late), but I definitely remember reading/hearing it from him after that draft.
Since you know him maybe you can just ask him if you think he would honestly answer you...but I will have a look for you.

As simples as this sounds, I appreciate the complexity of it. Through the enterprise bargaining agreement from the AFLPA and the subsequent over governance by Commandeer Demetriou, the old days of calling a player in and having a new ars.e torn for him as they show him the door are long gone. There needs to be an appeal process where by the club can apply to be relieved of the player with no further financial penalties. Then the CFC can scow-er the metro and country leagues for boys who missed out on a draft and give him a go. Furthermore the player sacked should not have any claim on future draft tradings.

I am quite positive that if a deal could be struck for a player to be able to restock their list from a satellite comp we would start seeing badly behaved boys shown the door like the good old Ronald dale Barassi days. That would sharpen a few up.

As it is fine them 30k ea and a complete sanction from letting CUB"s finest pass through their lips..The AFL have to start giving some flexibility to clubs to hand out a few more DCMs

Searched a couple of articles and this is the closest Ive found so far but there are more so will have a further look.
I may be wrong and apologise to WH if so as its not my intention to spout mistruths.
Also have heard from someone directly involved in another clubs rect dept that it was his interview and psych testing that put them off and he felt it was the reason Robbo "slid"

http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/news ... wsid=72054

"The Blues were surprised and delighted to snap up the 19-year-old with their second pick (40th overall) at the draft. So certain were they that the hard-running midfielder would be gone before then, recruiting manager Wayne Hughes hadn't even spoken with the lad's parents before he called out his name on draft day."

I know it isn't what I claimed but after eating a late night crayfish I only just started searching and its time for bed now.

Blah, blah, blah.... Boys being boys..... Blah, blah, blah

not good enough. Why are we the only club to have trouble from a Xmas party???? Pathetic. Why are most of our players out on the tiles part way through pre season training? Amateur.

Braddles must shake his head in disbelief.

We should just trade Juddy, obviously no one respects him...... Why do we have so many Fwits?

If these dip shits want to go out on the turps, get a @#$%&! real job, play suburban footy.... ffs give up the booze and binge drinking. Amateur, we will go nowhere with the attitude our players seem to have. If any of us were in their position I'm sure we would do anything to get the best out of ourselves, loading up on booze is no good for an athlete, fine for amateurs.

Merry flower Xmas..... Let's get smashed....

I'm honestly not trying to be the epitome of rhetoric here, but if the story as has been speculated is true then your post is a way over the top.

The club has acted quickly, fining the players involved. They've moved as quick as they possibly could have, as well as decisively, sending a clear message to the club as a whole and that's really all that can be asked of them.

The incident was dealt with by police at the scene, no charges were laid and as such we can hardly scream blue murder over it.

They're on leave from the club until the new year and if anyone thinks this will in anyway hinder the players involved when they return you're kidding yourselves.

Get over it like Walker, Houlihan and the club have. Whilst your at it get over yourself, too.

The club has acted very quickly , fined them both , and done whatever else was considered necessary , and , obviously wants this matter over .
I agree with what CFC have done . No criminal offences , no police action , both players now sober , and very embarrassed .
Enjoy the festive season , and get back to a 2010 season that shows so much promise for Carlton .

Now please don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument Hack. I know for a fact WH and Ratts and SR and SI and others all spoke at length to Robbo at DC that year. I know because I bought him to the interview room.

As for you other comment about why he slipped I guess time will tell. 09 wasn't a bad start for him prior to injury. He brings a level of commit to the contest that every club would love. There's a guy called Martin Pike who has 3 premiership medals and he had a few hiccups early days.

A day out for boozy Carlton footballers ended in Crown Casino Ban

Good jobs fellas. If we lose our $1mil sponsorship that is replacing Tourism Malaysia, you would have to consider a lengthy suspension from NAB/Premiership Matches.

I love reading about managers saying how players are regretful, might get my Mum to tell my wife I regret missing her birthday.

I blame Harrison. If he had lost the election then the bloke Synbad was spruiking for would have been on the board by now and this would never have happened.

Apologies if this has already been raised, but in case it hasn't... what happens if Walker wins a Brownlow oneday? Unlikely but he is a mid and can find the ball and can run and carry so if he gets a good run with injuries, the true Walks may yet emerge... but the Brownlow is held at Crown !!!!!

Imo this goes to the top. Why doesn't Ratts come out and put ALL players on notice. Roo's has the no flower policy in Sydney, Scott has already publicly put his players on notice regarding alcohol and the way they represent the club...and he's a first year coach ffs!

All starting to wear a bit thin. We continually seem to give ammunition to the fans of the other 15 clubs.

We need some real leadership..it shouldn't be up to Judd to hold everyones hands.

I wouldnt be worried about what a Saints fan says to you about this. Milne, Montagna, gardner and lovett should see you winning that fight.

agreed about ratts!! i really feel that he hasn't got the respect of all the players... it feels like whenever something happened at the club, there were 2 or 3 players who would cop it every time, being stevo, scotland etc...

i dont think ratts dragged fev once last year, why?? i have no clue. GROW SOME LITTLE ROUND ONES RATTS!

ITS SERIOUSLY TIME TO TURN THIS PLACE UPSIDE DOWN

Fev got dragged plenty of times last season.

When you look back at the recent history of the CFC, certain 'older' players were typically the ones involved in off the field incidents (and also often poor training, lack of discipline in terms of weight gain etc).

Most of the older crew are now gone - Whitnall, Stevens, Fevola.

But 1 or 2 still remain, so maybe the culture hasn't been totally fixed up just yet??

We can now add Betts and Robinson to the carnage.
Not quite sure what has happened but these two guys have been disciplined by the club.
Robinson has been in a fight or two in Tassie and may have hurt his shoulder and Betts was probably carrying on from his form from late last year.

Judd was a Siglo last night.

He ate at least one party pie and at least one sausage roll...

I saw it with my own eyes.

He was still there when I left (10ish). Not sure if he ate any more...

Don't think he has to worry in that department

May be a bit of a worry if they hold the VFL awards there
