Oh my!

I just feel for the honest guys at the club who are professional in their approach and are trying to restore some credibility to this bloody club.

Instead of keeping things inhouse all the time and brushing things under the carpet (which only causes more suspicion and speculation) everything needs to be exposed so a proper healing process can take place.

How rotten are we behind the facade??

Why were Walker and Houlihan staying in a hotel in the city that they live in during the off season?

Office romance?

Not that there's anything wrong with it

They had been out boating for the day..and thought, rather than embarrass the club by acting like clowns..(twas an alcoholic boat trip), they should do the right thing and check in to a hotel for the night. ...nope..no irony there..none at all.

I would not be surprised ... lol. We will eventually have a truly righteous group of footballers ... maybe not as talented ... but righteous.

I am amused by the incident ... silly Houla ... but so what ... you will always find some footballers (just like others in society) acting a little stupid. Sounds like AW was just trying to get Houla out of there.

Carlton is a football team ... not the keeper of moral standards. All the goody two shoes that think they have never done anything wrong in their life make me laugh. If a crime has not been commited I think the reaction is way over the top. No charges have been layed.

Don't know whether to yawn or laugh.

OK .. bring it on.

Judd is a great on field leader

but IMHO his leadership off the field has to be questioned

West coast and now this. I know he cant be expected to be everywhere but...its a worrying trend to say the least that the issues keep occuring. I am not saying he is part of the problem, but he doesnt seem to be able to solve anything either

PS I love Chris Judd

They are 2 of about 44 employees that make a $25 million dollar business go round. Not some pissed unemployable mates at West Broadmeadows FC.

What laws did Tiger Woods break aside from Moral ones. How many of his Sponsors have jumped ship. You obviously have no idea about the ramifications Rob.

You can LOL and say 'boys will be boys' until the cows come home but sadly in this day and age your beliefs are that of a dinosaur with 1970's thinking.

1970's thinking

It was during this time I spent several weekends in Melbourne with a Tassie mate on a VFL club's list. No rules other than make sure no one found out! I wonder how much all this has really changed in 2009?

You would hope that with all the "education" programs in place that this would get sorted. However in our culture being "good at sport" is still a license to behave like a dick - see Watson et al.

1970 ... yes its true .. i am a bit of an old codger ... what a year that was tho.

Its good to know we will have a truly righteous team in the end ... tho by then all the sponsers in the world won't win us the flag.

It's funny how there are always the two different responses to these events.

On one side is there are those that don't see anything wrong with what has happened and calling the other group the moral police that over react whenever a player get out of line.

On the other side we have those that expect better from the players and demand an improvement in the culture of our club.

I will say this - Name a premiership team who had culture issues at the time and why is it the so called big clubs that seem to have these issues? Where has Collingwood or West Coasts culture got them? Why do we hear very little from Geelong, North Melbourne or Bulldogs in regards to incidents by their players.

A team that is clearly focused on what they need to do in order to achieve the ultimate success will not allow members of the team to distract the team from it's primary focus.

And in regards to those that believe that culture is over rated and that players are allowed to act like boffins at times because we all do. How do you see it when some of our politicians say that they tried dope when they were young and it's no big deal that our young are using it? Are we over reacting by continuing to make dope illegal?

It's not that hard to keep some morals and DEMANDING that our players do so as well. You know the deal - have a drink, but don't get plastered, treat women with respect, have some respect for the other patrons of the Hotel/Club/Party, don't drink and drive, keep the sex toys in the bedroom etc, etc, etc. Everybody else is expected to do so, it's about time some of our Sports People and Celebrities do so as well

This still doesn't make sense to me. Am I missing something? Why check in to a hotel when a you live about 10 minutes away in a cab? Is there more to this? It seems a little strange that's all...

..you can't seriously be thinkin' that Juddles, in the two years that he was captain of WC, would turn around a decade of 'culture'.. ..especially when the 'real captain' was still on the list.. ..ditto the blues, he's two yrs on our list and in a walk-up captain's role, and he's got decades of culture to rejig.. .... ..at the end of the day, Juddles can't be holding every team mate's hand 24/7..
