This one is a week old now, but I just stumbled across it on the Carlton website. A very cool story that had a direct influence on our 1945 premiership.

“Even now I think about this episode. It still makes me happy to think that I gave the young bloke a chance to realise his dream. And I can still see Ken’s face at roll call . . . you’ve never seen a man so thankful.”

Happy 100th Albert.

:thanks:

Great story...congratulations to the club for recognizing supporters such as Albert.

'45 was a big year for Ken Baxter...he became a father, played in a winning Grand Final side and due to war duties played only 13 games for the year - yet still managed to come runner-up in the B&F that year.
