Only one real option....................Krooz. Has big fish Salmon pre-knee reco written all over him. 200cm, not slow, can mark, great conversion rate, and can dish off if he doesn't mark it. Sweet.

I think Hampson is a better option then Kruezer. I think Kruezer is a better forward now, and would still be inclined to through him there every no and then, but I thought that last year Hammer showed signed he could be like Tippet, but harder to match up on.

I would play Hendo as the developing genuine CHF, and Hampson as a developing FF who pinch hits in the ruck, with Waite drifting forward occasionally too.

'versatility' is one thing, but 'unstable' is another. You'd want 2 permanent tall forwards all the time, with a 3rd floater but its no good to keep changing your key forwards. I think we need to pick 2 (say Hendo and Setanta) who will ALWAYS be in the forward line and then throw a third out of the rest (Kreuz, Waite, Hampson) when the times right.

btw, do you guys think that Kreuzer, Hampson, Warnock, Hendo and Setanta can all be in the same side at once? Throw in the tall defenders in Waite, Thornton, Jamison etc and we seem to have a alot of talls in our team (although some of our 'tall defenders' arent actually that tall).

I guess one advantage is that pretty much all our talls are the mobile, agile type so they can cover ground, but if they are all in the same team it means we will have 3 tall forwards pretty much at all times next year, with 1 ruckman on the field and 1 on the bench, which is rare these days (although not necessarily wrong, who knows it could prove to be the tactic that gives us the edge).

This is my first post but I have been following the Blues since 1965. Play Mitch Robinson at FF. As a leading forward he will terrify any backman in his path ie he will clear the way for Betts, Garlett, and Yarran. Kreuzer can also drop in the hole and take a few marks.
Or do I sound too much like a coach? And that's something we don't really need while we have Ratts, champion player that he was.
:thanks:

Hey Little Teddy Hopkins.... Welcome to the boards :)

Good idea- it's original! :thanks:

Thanks. I am a fan of Mitch Robinson. Trouble with Ratts is that with such a versatile team he does not seem to think out of the square enough.

P.S. I also saw the highlight reel of the new Tasmanian arcus Davies we picked up in the draft and reckon he could be even better. Smooth, quick, solid. :thanks:

Talls like Kreuzer, Setanta and Hampson who are as quick as most medium players are like gold. The premise that a side can be too tall is based on the norm that talls aren't too good below their knees, or are not fast enough across the ground. Buddy Franklin is a classic modern tall player who can mark in a pack and then outrun or out-turn a tackler whilst bouncing the footy.
Setanta is great below his knees, as is Kreuzer. Hampson is super fast but his weakness is that his marks aren't sticking as yet.

I think we can go tall given these three players are like tall mid-types. Add Waite to that list as well if you like.

As the great Jack Dyer used to say, A good big bloke will always beat a good little bloke

I'd like to see them play Carlos, Hendo and Kreuzer as three roaming tall forwards, with Carlos more towards FF, Hendo more around the arc and Kreuzer given a licence to run. Houlihan, Betts and Yarran around them, with Gibbs and Murph pushing forward in support.

Play Jacobs and Warnock in the ruck, and play Kruezer/hammer/henderson up forward for the Nab cup. See how they go

All these names are reasonably irrelevant as they are all keeping the seat warm for Pavlich when he plays with us next year!
Just wait for it. Couldn't do it all in one trade period - but no harm waitinhg 12 months. Gives Henderson time to develop and lets Pav's contract run out so we get him easier. PLENTY of room in the cap (paying guys overs/front loaded this year) ready to go bang on a big name!

The recruiters should be going for Panos in the pre season draft. All Australian U18 full forward and no one has picked him up :screwy:

It means having to delist somebody as a mature age.

Teddy you would think that with 16 clubs overlooking him on several occassions in the ND, that there would be several question marks over him.

Whilst I value the opinion of posters on TC, you cannot claim to know more about the kid than these guys.

But don't tell the 15 other clubs about this youtube thingy that can give you the greatest insight into a player.

Surely they already know.... I mean its only due diligence to watch a players YouTube footage.

What are we paying these guys for?
