It was a great feeling to see Barassi playing in a Carlton jumper

1980 baby...

Early to mid 80s: Bruce Doull
Mid to late 80s: Wayne Johnston, Jon Dorotich, Stephen Silvagni, Stephen Kernahan
early to mid 90s: Stephen Silvagni, Stephen Kernahan, Fraser Brown, Anthony Koutoufies, Brad Pearce, Ang Christou
Late 90s: Lance Whitnall, Anthony Koutoufides, Justin Murphy
Early 00s: Lance Whitnall, Anthony Koutoufides,
Current Squad: Bryce Gibbs, Marc Murphy, Jordan Russell, Matthew Kreuzer, Shaun Hampson... I love our current squad to be honest.

Wasn't the biggest Chris Judd fan until I got to watch him lead that team this year as I believe for the most part that his skills have been a tad overrated for most of his career (he is brilliant, no doubt, but not quite "OMFG he's the greatest thing since sliced bread" that they make him out to be; ie. he'd not be in the top 3 in our 1995 premiership team). His leadership, however, was very underrated and watching him made me appreciate him. His disposal sometimes leaves a lot to be desired- a lot of times when he turns the ball over it leads directly to a 'fast-break' opposition goal (always has and always will) - but he won me over.

Wow, wonder if we could poll the least favourite, that might be interesting ?

Glenn Hawker

All of the rejects picked up post-1995 grand final (too many to list)

Personally, Michael Sexton.... OMFG, My mother was just so in love with the guy.. Great player, but it was just one of those things.... Reminded me of the girls who went wild for Kouta and Brad Pearce. He did visit her when she was in hospital completely unexpectedly -- one of the nurses that had been taking care of her saw him at the hospital one time and she told him about my mum being such a big fan and so he spent about 20 minutes with her. It was nice. Great guy and a very good player, but just that crush my mother had on him when I was about 15-19 was sickening.

Never really liked Adrian Whitehead, either. Always came off to me as being a whiny little punk.

#1 on the list however is Troy Bond. Whenever he played in the reserves I swear he spent half the game just WALKING. Never seen a more lazy Carlton player. Dude had the skills to be anything.

Stephen Silvagni.
He took mark of the year when I was a school boy about the same age.
I was running around the school oval in the inner west of Sydney
calling out his name every time I took a grab after that. All the rugby league heads were looking at me puzzled but were all doing the same thing by the end of year 12 every time they took a "bomb". Im guessing most of them still dont know who this "SILVAGNI" fella is.

I had the pleasure of meeting SOS on night about 6 or 7 years ago and I told him the story.
He bought me a beer and we had a great chat.

in no particular order -

Andy McKay
Curly Austin ( i still have the cfc birthday cards he signed...)
Wayne Johnston
Val Perovic
Geoff Southby (absolute gentleman when i met him when i was aged @ 10)
Craig (coach) Bradley
Simon Beaumont (seriously, he was always entertaining)
SOS
Bruce Doull
Adiran Hickmott
Digby Morrell (kidding...)
David Rhys Jones
Sticks

of the current crop -

Krooze
Russell (i love seeing the underdog shine)
Jamo
AJ
Hammer

but in all honesty, any and every player ever to pull on the navy blue is my favorite player

Matty Lappin was THE MAN!

I loved watching him play his guts out week in week out. There was nothing of him, but he still managed to crunch marks through packs and run blindly into contests.

I remember taking my friend who was a Tigers fan to the Carlton / Richmond round one match 1999 (I believe). He was trashing me all before the game about how Carlton sucked and how Richmond was this and that...

Then Lappin took the mark of the year.

Never have I seen someone become a fan of the Carlton Football Club as quickly as when Lappin took that mark right in front of us. He's been a Carlton member ever since.

Can't believe I left out Fraser and Hunter.
Two of my faves.
