I'm with you Bondi Blue
Glad you got Big Nick in there twice - I would have tried for 3 times
I would have added Ashman well up the list though

Loved Vin Waite's work
Saw him early on in the seconds at Windy Hill and knew he was the hard man needed.
His dancing teacher apparently forgot to teach him the "backward step"

From the start of the modern era:
Big Nick (wonderful player, even better leader)
Jezza and Crosswell for their sheer magic

a little later:
Doull (simply unbeatable)

a little later:
Dominator and Buzz for their sheer excitement

90s:
Ratts (surprised no one's mentioned him yet, absolutely fantastic player, hard, honest and very skilful)

I'm pleased to say there are a few in the current team that are ready for the list.

As a teenager: Kernahan.

I shook Kernahan's hand as a teenager after the 1987 flag.

I had to reach into another atmosphere to shake the great man's hand.

Sticks was massive.

I was hooked from that day on.

Bradley - Bounce, bounce, bounce goal...

The clean cut, fast, skilled and exciting Camporeale was one of my favourites between 1995 and 2000.

Showed his true form after 2002 with the rat goatie he sported..

Williams - best Carlton footballer I've seen.

Hanna - God bless you for tearing Wanganeen a new one in State of origin.

Mil always smashed Schwass and played well in SOO.

Troy Bond.

The 1995 backline - they count as one :smoking:

Madden - Don't handpass it to DeIulio! Kick the goal yourself...

Dean Rice.
Fraser Brown
Justin Murphy
Koutoufides.
Whitnall
Kris Massie - smashed Lucas in one of the best against the odds wins I witnessed.

Massie should never have left Carlton.

Walker - Walks will always symbolise hope for me after we lost all our draft picks in one foul swoop.

One of my favourites for good.

Even if he leaves or is injured again.

Waite - I saw his first game for Carlton at Princes Park when he was a top up player for our seconds.

Waite rucked, played forward and kicked one of his typical running goals IIRC.

Russell
Kennedy
Yarran

There was a time when I was Ashman crazy,,,but he was my No 2 at the time. How good was his shot at goal from 55 with the torpedo? WOW,

Vin Waite was also my 2nd favourite there for a time. I considered him as our tough man....although Big Nick was bonafide tough....I did for a while consider Vinnie as the toughest.

Bradley started it all
Mark Naley came and went
Brent Heaver burnt like a star for probably only 2 seasons but had a lasting effect on me, clearly!
Then the Vet - loved how he was so hard at the footy
now it's Wiggo and has been since 2002 (allowing for brief flirtations with AB).

When he goes I've got no idea who I'll switch my allegiance to. Probably Walks, maybe Simmo. But 2010 will still be Wiggo town for me.

Love all of the above but have to admire some of the lucky lucky well known unknowns that managed to play in a premiership team.

Warren McKenzie, Scott Howell, Matt Clape & Brad Pearce come to mind.

They did what the likes of Skilton, Flower & Buckley could not achieve

Jezza
Southby
Ken Hunter
David Rhys-Jones
Peter Dean
Kernahan
McKay
Kruezer
Jamison
Judd

So I made it twelve... :smoking:

LIke everyone else's this is a tough gig.

But here goes in some sort of chronlogical order.

Cliff Stewart ...... Not sure why but he looked "flashy" to me
John Nicholls ...... You couldnt imagine a stronger leader
Alex Jesaulenko ....... He made the ball talk, and love blossomed
Bruce Doull ........ You never worried if the ball went near him
Vin Cattoggio ........ Was like a comet for a couple of years
Greg Towns ........ Liked his grunt
Val Perovic ......... Looked like an assasin, and played like one too
Wayne Johnston ........ Nickname said it all
Jimmy Buckley ....... They dont make 'em like him anymore, pity
Peter Bosustow ........ Worth the admission ticket alone
Ken Hunter ........ Built like a twig, played like a giant
Ken Sheldon ........ Everybody loved Bomba
Stephen Silvagni ........ How could you not admire him
Greg Williams ....... Simply sublime, with a touch of animal
Peter Dean ...... More animal, is there a theme here ?
Mil Hanna ....... Very underrated talent
Kouta ....... Took it to a new level in 2000.
Fev ...... The good, the bad and the sometime very ugly
Kreuzer ...... Club legend in the making
Speculative pick ...... One of SOS's boys

Thats my top 20.
Wow, wonder if we could poll the least favourite, that might be interesting ?
