He needs a big year in 2010. Dropped behind a few players last year.

Gold Coast bound if he doesn't.

I thought Grigg was going to have a breakout season in 2009, but he almost went backwards.

With a good pre-season under his belt, and hopefully an injury free run; maybe 2010 will be his breakout season.

i think he has a big future and will be especially handy now stevo has moved on.

he looked awesome in the pre season game against the roos and then went backwards a bit, but he willcome good no doubt. can't believe he was rumored trade bait.

I was expecting much more from Grigg this year.
Heres hoping he can fulfill his potential in 2010.

Like others have said, I thought in 2009 he was going to take the next step but he seemed to have become stagnant a little if not gone backwards.

Now with Stevens retiring, there is a spot in the middle with his name on it.

I know Grigga will make it his.

I hope he improves his disposal by hand and foot.

Still peripheral in my books.

Good luck to him. 'Good average' player with a bit of mongrel.

I wish he'd show as much aggression towards the ball as he does towards the opposition when the ball is neutral and umpire is going to restart with a bounce.

He seems to skirt around the edges a bit too much. Maybe he's tagging when I see that, but it does seem the ongoing Grigg pattern.

Needs to really step up early in the season and impress, because I don't know whose position he's likely to take, and I think atm there's a few ahead of him.

Grigg is here to stay.

I thought that Grigg showed quite a bit of promise as a hard ball get at the clearances last year. My only concern was that he would then just throw the ball on his boot and hope the best instead of being more constructive with it.

I like Griggs aggression and when fit and firing he will add some good quality depth to our midfield rotations.

I like the kid and see him in our best 22; unfortunately he is one of the worse left foot kicks I have seen. Not terrible but compared other left footers he doesn't exhibit the classical, smooth style associated with left footers

I think this is a good point. We have a permanent opening for a rebounding mid ... the floor is yours Sean Grigg, show us what you've got.

I like his mongrel, let's hope he has a fantastic 2010. His agro is just the sort of thing our midfield needs.

I've not yet been to training this year (2010 pre-season) - but when I do one of the many things i'll be looking for is for Shaun to have remedied the kicking deficiency that he has. His left hand (the one holding the ball) moves too far to the left when kicking and causes him to spray the footy far too often. I love his height and physique and he can kick a lovely ball when he concentrates, but until he gets a couple of flaws out of his game (this one and what he needs to do when the team doesn't have the ball), I can't fit him in the starting 22.

Agree, but I'm less concerned with his disposal (I feel his biggest issue is his composure when disposing, he was becoming an excellent mid-range field kick the year before).

His inability to execute without the ball is a huge issue. I can recall numerous times where he has been backing off opponents into no-mans-land, giving them an extra 20 metres carry and completely opening up avenues to goal. He's a defensive liability when he's not working over an opponent first and foremost.

Agree with that jimmae - he always seems incredibly rushed or very slow to dispose of the ball as he just kicks it without looking for the best option.

I like the kid, but on a couple of occasions he has not gone when it was his turn to go. He'll never be Adrian Hickmott, but there is definately room for improvement in this aspect of his game.
