The Talking Carlton Poll gets a mention in the Article

Quote:
A poll on fan site Talking Carlton has the approval rating at just 29 per cent. Almost half dislike it with the rest willing to give it some time. But that's okay, Hughes argues.

I noticed it too. It seems that alot of people read TC. I am sure that this site is where many journo's get their information from.

And the slogan generated airtime on the 5AA sport show over here.

Free publicity ! Thanks for cooking taht one up !

It's a MEMBERSHIP slogan. It's not the Clubs slogan .

If it gets publicty then it's done it's job. Hell if they rolled out something mundane and boring everyone would say
they need to get with the times.

Not sure about that sjabc.

You are right it's a membership slogan...the objective is to sign up members...just because it gets publicity it doesn't mean we sign up members...in fact if it gets bad publicity (which it is getting) it may well have the opposite effect.

No Juzzy, the campaign is not intended for people who WERE going to buy memberships, it is intended for people who may or may not buy, who haven't decided, who are not sure whether to make a commitment this year etc...

Clearly you know very little about marketing.

I think this :screwy: is meant for you.

Juzzy you should come out in your $500 shirt, your black sunnies, look Teddy up and down, and say the Juzzy will take you down Know Your Role Boulevard which is on the corner of Jabroni Drive and check Teddy directly into the Smackdown Hotel!

Its not actually a bad slogan.

We chopped a ton of crap from 'you know we are coming'. Every banner was about you know we are coming on the oppositions banner with a spin off it.

'Something Blue' was something meaningless.

This slogan actually will spark a bit of controversy and actually get media attention, which is what you want.
isnack 2.0 ring a bell. Everyone knows what isnack 2.0 is and that is good marketing.

IF the club can get extra members from this slogan then great. IT is aimed at the kids who may swing over as the next generation members.

Best thing club can do is to get the rock down and get in the promo video :) now that would be awesome. If you smelllllllllllllllllllllll what the goltz is cooking!!

Come now the slogan isnt as bad as the name isnack 2.0 thats insulting.

A promo with The Rock would just be awesome. Create alot of media attention to considering its just for a slogan. Will he be in Australia any time soon? Cant see why he wouldnt agree to it if he is here anyway.

Isnack 2.0 was an example.

I think the slogan is good, builds up the rivalry between Pies and Bombers next season. The slogan shows the blues have a bit of arrogance and confidence, sends a message to the pies and bombers that we are going to cook their asses when we play them. Just have to back it up now.

Get Swanny on to Vince McMahon and get the rock down here for a promo. Kids that love The rock and will jump onboard the blue wagon.

If the rock has any movies coming out in cinemas he should be down, but either way you wouldnt need him down just send him a guernsey and get him to say 'Do you smellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll what the blues are cooking' at the end of the commercial. Will be gold.

I highly doubt there would be many people that may or may not buy memberships that will see a slogan and make a decision based off it. Those people are more likely to sign up if membership is brought to their attention. The slogan is stupid, however it has got the word out quite well that memberships are available. That is GOOD marketing is it not? A truely bad campaign would have been one that got no attention at all.

Why bother having a slogan at all if this is what we dish up so to speak.

My year 7 graphics class could come up with something better than this

Last years was embarrasing

This years is cooked already

The Rock has two movies coming out. The first is the Toothfairy, the other is some cartoon where the human is the alien in a world of aliens.

Will be in Australia to promote the movies.

I don't know if we can get him to sign on with us and do a commercial... but it's possible.
