defensive forward for mine.

with time as a midfielder as part of the rotations if needed.

i think we have the small backman covered with russell, army, browne etc

midfield he is handy but we have better options generally. i like his experience and team work and he is a surprisingly straight set shot for goal, but is defencivley minded which will keep the rebounders honest.

we need some experience in the team, he 'could' be thrown around anywhere as a backup option if someone is getting cut up, but he is a little on the sluggish side and is not the most penatrating kick.

he could drag the opposition half backman to FF as he has a big tank and will work hard both ways all day.

tagging role on best medium opposition fwd

Back pocket on best small / medium fwd, as he used to play - when needed (assuming AJ tagging a mid)

Otherwise starting on the pine rotating with Murphy in the middle - as you all say, he is a ball magnet

..gone forward as well.. ..and not just as a neg type player either, he's actually a good small leading/marking fwd.. ..it was just he'd pepper the goals for nada but points [six in one game i think?].. ..but this past season he was nailin' shots from varying degree's of difficulty, and real 'crunch' type goals as well.. ..with the idea of rotatting prime mids thru the fwd line, carrots can just rotate with them for stints on the ball.. ..faster/safer than interchanging, and he has huge endurance to do it..

+ 1

Taking the best opposition rebounding defender out of the game and hurting them on the scoreboard.

Must be played forward...very smart player with quick hands....would be invaluable near the goals.

Absolute ball magnet. Part of the midfield rotation for mine. Being part of the midfield rotation means he will spend time forward, as Judd, Murphy, Gibbs etc will, but i'd have Carazzo playing mainly in the middle. He's gonna have free rein every week. He wont get tagged all year. To me this means he's good for 20+ possessions every game, and his disposal is now damaging enough that 20+ is very valuable. I think it was against Freo at Subi this year where he seemed to have a free run to do whatever he wanted. He racked up about 30 possies and pushed forward in the last quarter to kick a crucial goal or 2. If i had to choose a 5th mid behind Judd, Mclean, Murphy and Gibbs, i think Carazzo would find more of the footy and be more damaging than any of Hadley, Scotland, Houlihan etc, while Simpson & Walker are more flanker / wingmen types (damaging runners, but not as likely to find the footy 30 times in a game).

..agree with this too actually, he's not given anywhere near enough credit as a mid, and with the 'star' names in our mid group, he'll be the forgotton one.. .... ..also, would love to see them play Gibbs as a HFF for the majority, just think he'd romp it in across there, as a lead up target and can you imagine the smarts and vision of him kicking into our F50..
