It is good to see such an outburst of media bashing - they deserve it.

How about giving judd the occasional stint of half back. Similar to Mcloud at crows. Could find a bit of space out there where we could use his dash and inside fifties.

For now it would be robbing peter to pay paul but as the midfield grows we may be able to free him from time to time to use a set of skills that teams work hard week to week to stop.

Just a thought.

Judd did have his worst ever goal tally, only kicking 12.

Expect Ratts to keep the opposition guessing and Carlton supporters interested.

Not a Ratten fan, but lets give him at least till round 12 before making a judgement.

Did someone mention a cat fight !

The best midfielder I ever say not in a Dark Navy Blue jumper was Lethal Leigh Matthews.
He was very damaging playing forward of the ball.
In his twilight years he became a leading goalkicker because he was that good.
His twighlight years lasted 5 years, and that's because he was preserved from all the battering in the midfield.
Ratts knows that would be the case with Judd too.
Wouldn't you like to have Judd playing till he's 33-34?

Ratts knows that if you throw class in the forwardline you're going to get goals.
Judd can kick goals and create goals. Judd elenko if you want.
Ratts was just asked where the goals will come from.
He knows he has options.

But he was talking about resting Judd forward (if you can have him do that) and let him do is thing (create goals) whilst preserving him from all the tagging tactics in the guts.
Judd could probably continue to be the best clearance player even playing full forward; he's that good.

I reckon Ratts will look good by round 12. Not necessarily exclusily because of his coaching prowess. We will just be a better team without Fev...and the return from injury of Waite, Walker, Jamison, Hadley, Robinson and Austin and inclusion of Maclean, Henderson and Warnock....it's easy to see why will be better.
Ratts has options. We will be multi pronged and the whole team will lift another 5% across the board.

I thought Ratts looked really relaxed and it was obvious he wasn't going too give much away through the media. The media has decided to run with a snippet.

An advert for Sports Tonight on Ch10 just announced "A new role for Chris Judd!"

I think he might be playing the lead in Mary Poppins next year.

Gerard Healy suggested rotating Judd thru the forward line years ago as a way to stop him getting hammered and tagged all game. Not the worst idea Juddy spending more time up forward.

Its a lie.

Nice perspective re`Mathews Bondi. Was also thinking what a good effort it was to make the finals after losing our FB and CHB for most of the year. Not many clubs could cover that.

Gee thats not looking too good on paper. 1.3 gls/game to Fish and Eddie have them way out in front on a goals to game basis.

Nobody on the list has kicked 200 goals on the list.

And still I feel confident we will score similarly next year
