Oh my! Just received the email from the club - I thought the line in this thread was a joke! IThe slogan is different, will get noticed and unlike any football club slogan I have ever seen.

Time will tell. Will give journos a beautiful start but if nothing else, we will be noticed.

Go Blues!

Yes, but my point is that it didn't have for me the images that you said it conjured up. Maybe some potential members do think like me.

Maybe, but you'd think that if you wanted to attract potential members, in other words supporters, who may be undecided about whether to give more of their time (and money) to footbal ... then a cooking metaphor (and a bad one at that) seems a pretty bizzare way to go about it.

I don't agree...

Quote:
Last year's infamous 'They know we're coming' slogan preceded a 13-win season under coach Brett Ratten and a first finals appearance in eight years.

Now the Blues believe people should know what they're creating.

"In 2009 we prepared an entree - making the finals. In 2010 we are in the process of preparing our main meal," Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said.

Last season, with the club's famed arrogance one of the key marketing tools, Carlton signed a record 43,294 members - 2500 up on the previous year.

Carlton membership: On sale today at carltonfc.com.au or call 1300 727 981. Renewal packs for existing members will be mailed next week.

Makes sense...and it got the membership hotline number into the news as well.

I wasn't happy with the creative excution but it has grown on me.

So a  to the club for getting this topic to 5 pages already plus a few pages in the other thread.

A recipe for success takes time. So just sit at the bench and wait for the pot to simmer. We nearly have all the ingredients.

I love it!

Who cares whether other clubs have a membership slogan or not? You'll find most of them do, but they're boring. I'm glad the club is willing to be daring and different and not sticking with "Together We Rise" or "Something Blue".

Not very creative unfortunately.....

But on a brighter note it's a reminder to all Richmond fans that their team is such a rabble that we left them out!!!!

Been in Marketing and Comms my whole working life and that is pretty awful... Seriously not original and is so simple to put up for ridicule its not funny. I don't like the cheap shot at the pies and bombers either, leave that sort of rubbish to them... Disappointing in my opinion.

Absolute rubbish.

I thought we couldn't out do last years shitful effort, but it turns out our marketing department can go lower. MUCH lower!

It's mean to be bold, brash, instill fear etc etc This slogan makes me want to cock my eyebrow and start dropping elbows on people.

May as well have had Chris Judd posing like a grasshopper with 'Waxing On In 2010' written underneath him.

Would have had the same effect.

It has a purpose whether we like it or not & it fulfills that purpose. Most supporters of all teams will remember this and it has already had more publicity then the other teams will combined.

Does make me think of letting rip though.

Essenodons is far worse.
