I'm not really phased either way! At the end of the day any marketing or advertising person will tell you that the sole purpose of a marketing campaign is to create something we all remember and generate talk - whether its good, bad or indifferent.

This is definately the case here. Not sure what the overall consensus will be but it definately gets people talking and its something that will be remembered. So its a win!

Continuing the cooking theme, of which there has been so many successful television shows, Swann said it was fair to compare 2009 as the entrée; “we made the finals” and 2010 as the start of the process of “preparing the main meal”.

seriously wtf, terrible slogan.

Why in the flower do we think we need a slogan?

FFS, we're a football club not a flower soft drink!

Actually, no- we are a soft drink.

In order for us to stay at the top of being one of the most successful/most hated football clubs we must brand ourselves just like a soft drink does,(there's a couple of fairly well known ones with a fanbase in the billions worldwide). Its an integral part of being a modern club. The better you do it, the better able you are able to build the football department and boost performance during a game, to create an environment players want to be part of (or traded to), to provide for members in such a way that they can tangibly see that our club Carlton IS better than any other @#$%&! worthless club.

If you just want to follow a football club go support someone in the Amateurs, or St Kilda.

@#$%&!, some of you whingers on here go on like you were the only ones to ever support the Blues.

Its ordinary..in fact its woeful.....we are a football club not a reality series cooking show.
Chris Judd could be George Calombaris with a footy jumper on.......

I'm not a fan of the slogan thing, just sets you up for fall especially when you slag off two of our arch rivals.
I know you need marketing etc for memberships but i prefer a more low key approach.....just gives our rivals too much ammo and we should have learned from last time when Essendon* took the piss and made us look silly.

Anyone know Geelongs slogan..I dont.....do they have one?

Dont mind the concept but the cartoon's a bit dicky.
I'd much rather see a photograph. Give it a tweak and it will be fine IMO.

I love the banter of footy, club to club, and really enjoy the club taking potshots at others. I used to be one of the writers who worked on 'the Buzz' which was clearly a failure for CFC but the idea was to give ammunition to Carlton fans when we had none. Poking fun at other clubs is part of the social side of footy and as we're definitely going to take it, I think its only fair we give it.

I loved last years campaign. It encapsulated our hope and everyone else's fear very well. I love that Essendon* bit back - exactly what you would expect from the class outfit that is that football club, lets be honest. Two big proud clubs playing a bit of media / supporter banter. Good stuff in my book and rivalries are there to be exploited.

I just dont get this years - to me it can be easily linked back to our salary cap cheating - and I dont watch wrestling so didnt know if that was a driver. So for me its a 'meh'; but that being said if this thread gets to 10 pages and the BF threads get to 20 pages then it's got people talking and its got the rivalries flowing and I'd mark it as a success.

I'm in the wrong line of work.....advertising firm's are the equivalent of bank robbers ...being a Ted Nugent fan I would have gone with "Cat scratch fever"....

Why are we cooking a magpie and a scum-plane when we got thrashed by both of them last time?
