This is a fantastic thread, especially for us interstaters.

I have been asked numerous times from Carlton supporters interstate how the elite training centre is going, and because I haven't been to Mellb in 2009 as often as proviously, I just refer them to this thread.

When you put all your photos in the book "The rise and rise of an Elite Training Centre" I will by a copy or ten to share with fellow Carltonians.

I can't wait till the day our list of thoroughbreds have an elite training facility to further improve them by another 10% ... that's scary....for the opposition.

Thanks again.

I think the feasibility study is going to recommend bolting plastic chairs onto the rootop. And there'll be ladders to get up there. This exposed seating will usher in a return of the duffel coat, and beer in cans because plastic cups would spill on the climb up the ladder.

Older supporters can be winched up and down, and when finding your seat you'll have to be careful to walk along the nails, otherwise you could fall through the roof and into our elite hyperbaric oxygenation recovery sauna.

Oh yes, Princes Park will once again host AFL football.

Good question, Tommi.
If the AFL is seriously thinking of PP as a 'boutique' stadium or the third stadium, there must be a hole somewhere where they can put a grandstand. I see the legends stand remains and that can hold a few thousand but is there the capacity to build another one without demolishing any of the new stuff?
Last time I was there they were still in the demolition phase so thanks for the photos.

This clip is a major cringefest, but it does give some glimpses of our new training facility...

Cheers for the pics CK95!

Excuse my ignorance on this one... but is the redevelopment available for our training over this offseason?

I think it will be fully completed by the end of the year i.e. ready at the start of Jan 2010.
