I think it may work initially, and for a little while as Fev has to obviously pull his head in. Down the not too distant track though there might be some personality clashes/territorial tension...I think that's what Synbad is eluding to.....One State of origin game tells us nothing.

I think you underestimate the influence and leadership of J. Brown.

Fev is not the big dog in Brisbane. Brisbane is, and always has been, the best club at keeping a player's ego in check. Wallsy's 'Ring of Fire' might not be there anymore, but won't stop Vossy from throwing Fev in the squared circle with either Brown or Bradshaw... or himself. Vossy's right cross is one of the better reality checks in the AFL today.

That said, I doubt it would come to that. The new surroundings might not stop Fev from finding trouble outside of business hours, but he WILL respect Voss, Brown & Black as the Alpha Males.

Will Fev be playing???

Its more likely he'll be sitting out the first 2-4 games of the season.
It'll be Brown and Bradshaw that we have to counter, not Fev and Brown

I'm pretty pumped up for this, first final in 8 years. Let's hope the weekend was just an aberration and we'll be back on top form to give the Lions what for and move on to Geelong or the Dogs next week.

What?

Why did it have to be at the Gabba :(

Woulda loved to have seen the reaction of the Carlton fans down here at the MCG.

Wow, after the ill fated and embarrasing 'keep fev' rally I had the opposite thought, I'm glad its at the Gabba so we dont have to see the reaction of the Carlton fans at the MCG

Carlton home games against the Brions are played at Etihad.

Fev needs to get use to the fact that his numerous games at the G are now long gone.

I'm a little amused at how many people have jumped on the Lions bandwagon since the Fev trade. In theory it sounds fantastic - but is it? All of a sudden they are flag favourites! For one, it will take time for the Brown/Fev/Bradshaw combo to take shape. The fact that we are playing them in Rd 2 will help us because I think it will take them at least 6-8 weeks to find their feet and learn how best to play together. And secondly, who's to say that the Brown/Fev/Bradshaw trio will even work at all! Brown is a gun but because of the way he plays his footy his body is not far from being shot so he will find himself playing more deeper to goals rather than CHF.

Am i the only one here seeing potential issues with the Lions forward line in 2010? Fev may become a changed man. Yes he may behave himself. But one thing you cant teach a 29 year old is 'new tricks'. Fev at CFC was THE forward target. Can you imagine now Fev having to play second fiddle to Brown and perhaps even Bradshaw!!!

Instead of predicting how many goals Fev wil kick in 2010, I'd like to know how many 'dummy spits' will the Fev have in 2010???

The early start will be awesome. When does dalight savings end?

It's a pity Judd won't be playing but he should be available for the pre-game function...they better have one next year! :|

Agree, this will be very interesting...will be on his best behaviour for a while, then not being the centre of the forward-line universe
will cut him deeply.... I'm sure this will keep us amused!

I think he’s alluding to the possibility that Fev will be suspended for his behaviour by the AFL. If that’s their intention, expect the round 2 game to be rescheduled.

To beat Brisbane it's Simon Black that we have to counter, he was the one who dragged them over the line in the finals.

Simon Black is getting older by the nanosecond...or is that nanasecond.
he'll probably need a walking frame to get out on the ground.
Also,Bradshaw will most likely be at Carlton, kicking goals for us.

In the end I think it was a good move for fev- better than the Sydney option.

However the lions are very overrated now: too reliant on black in big games (moreso than we are on Judd), and they lack quality small forward options if hooper is shut down (which happens too easily). Ash mcgrath is also losing his spark, and wildcard Brennan still hasn't reached star quality IMO. They get good value out of Sherman, drummond, patful, and vossys lovechild rich does have an impact when he's not copping a tag, ... BUT I can't see them winning a flag.

They may well beatvus at home without Judd, but if AJ can do a number on black and Waite can outplay Bradshaw then we can get over the line for a great club victory

hoping that hendo runs rings around mummys boy staker
