Waite is a defender
Henderson may not get a game.
Did forget Kreuzer but Warnock must be injury free

I like it Keogh but we generally set up with a 4-5 man forward line anyway.

For me I would have:

HF: Setanta/Thornton Yarran
F: Betts Cloke Kruezer

Setanta and even Thornton as a lead up CHF. Henderson will fill that role when ready.

Cloke to play form the square and Kruezer as a tall marking and leading fwd around the 50m mark.

Betts, Yarran (or Garlett) as the smalls and even leading forwards with Waite/Walker pushing from the wings and the outside midfielders such as Judd, Gibbs, Murph pushing fwd of the ball and kicking goals.

Don't rate Cloke that highly but I think he will play a fair bit to take the heat off younger bodies like Henderson.

Barring injury I'd expect henderson to play all games - whilst he is still a kid, physically he has some bulk atm. With another preseason that will improve again

For mine
FF setanta/cloke rotation henderson betts/garlett rotation
CHF yarran kreuzer murply/houlihan rotation

Jacobs and Hampson must ruck if Warnock not fit.

Kreuzer must play forward as he is a good mark and kick.

Waite is a 50 / 50 for mine, whilst i see him as a defender now, is lead up, experience and ability makes him an attractive option with Fev gone.

We may just have to go with Jamo, Thornton, Bower and Austin down back.

Setanta and Waite may just be our swingmen during the year.

I think your right about Hendo hard to get a game when you Have Bradshaw Brown Brennan and Merrett in the team .He be given a fair go just like we have done with Kruez and Hampson. Warnock fitness is the key if he is up and going we become far more flexible in what we can do
Good part about thi kid he can play forward and back I hope Austin goes the same way makes the whole predictability about our forward structure gone for good

dont think you will see much of Houlihan up forward his last few games this season proved he belongs at half back

Pretty confident Waite will spend a fair bit of time forward not deep but more of a running half forward

look at the options

Waite forward back wing
Austin forward back
Setanta forward back ruck
Kruez forward ruck
Warnock forward ruck
cloke forward ruck
Eddie forward midfield
Murph forward midfield
Wiggo forward back
Houlihan forward back
Gibbs midfield forward back
Hampson forward ruck
Carrott mid forward back
Yarren forward half back

Ratts has a team of players now he can throw all over the park he even experimented with Jamo and thornton forward and Judd goes there from time to time -If Ratts cant get this group of players to work and work well he will never be any good

No more Fev central I'm really looking forward to next year

For a case in point let's look at the Cats. No dominant key forwards (Mooney can be when he's switched on) but a good mix of crumbers, flankers and unpredictable types, not to mention a goalkicking midfield.

KPP: Mooney, Hawkins
Crumbers: Chappy, Stokes, Varcoe
Flankers: Byrnes, Johnson, Rooke (also the hard man)

I see similarities with our group, we just need them to develop and learn to gel. This will be an interesting time for Ratts and Lappin.

HF - Murphy Kruezer Walker
FF - Waite Henderson Betts

Murphy swapping in to the middle, with Gibbs & Judd to rest forward. When needed Walker & Waite can play in defense, in that case Yarran comes on and plays as the mid sized forward. Garlett can also play as a crumbing forward. Henderson should play every game. will be good for his development. I think he can be a 35-40 goal forward next year.

O'hAilpin & Cloke are just back up talls. Guys like Robinson, Houlihan & even Scotland at times should be given a run across half forward too.

I think Henderson will play every game.

He is the same age as Kruezer, and just as, if not more physically developed.

He might not be smashing packs at CHF just yet, but I expect him to play forward all year in one way or another.

Not seeing enough forward lines with Mitch Robinson for me!

At the moment, along with Eddie, he's the one certainty, I would have thought. We've got a few options now for key forward posts, with none of them certainties. We've got the exciting aboriginal crumbers. But Mitch is at present the only real genuine medium forward option on our list (capable in the air and on the ground and able to provide some physical presence). In time Yarran may become this sort of player. And Gibbs certainly could, if they played him up forward a lot more.

certainties: Betts, Robinson
tall options: Kreuzer, Henderson, Setanta, Cloke and perhaps Waite (I doubt they'll risk him up forward coming off a big knee injury)
small options: Yarran, Garlett, Murphy
defensive forward options: Carrazzo, Joseph

It will be interesting to see who is the forward "coach" in 2010.

The appoinment of new Assistant Coaching staff needs to be the next step.

Then in the summer there needs to be a lot of planning and drills so they players know where they should move to.

The outcome of the personnel changes for 2010 is that it must result in greater flexibility of players at set positions and more unpredictability for the opponents.

If the rucks can keep improving their skills (get a hand on the ball in contests) and get it to our mid-field players at least 50% of the time, then we have a good chance to score enough goals to win more than half the H and A games.

I would expect that a lot of different players at different times set up as leading forwards.
If the role is shared around it will be difficult for the defence.

The options are endless.

A solid forward who can play a little further up the ground than Fev use to would be handy. Rotate blokes through the role of leading out of the goalsquare or a tall to sit in the goalsquare and play deep to create a contest if we have to go in long. The rest of the forwards create pressure, lead up, rove packs and hold down attacking halfbacks. Names of the players are not important.

We can create a forward unit capable of scoring freely. More so than when we had fev as a one man show. It will take time so we need to be patient but in the end it will pay off. Still on target for 2012 -2014.

Agree - there will be plenty of experimentation, trying to find the right mix. There are likely to be teething problems, and the coaching staff should get some breathing space when they occur. What won't be excused is if the coaching panel isn't the best it could possibly be.

I agree...closed sessions will be the first sign we are in deep shit though.

Henderson still only 19yo (turns 20 in Dec) so he may not be ready and we might need to play O'Hailpin/Cloke instead for a while.
Judd/Murphy/Gibbs can spend time up forward. Ditto Walker.
Garlett competing with Yazz for the same spot. I'm hopefull Yarran will be a big improver next year after a full pre-season.
Hampson just might develop into nightmare matchup up forward - just needs to hold his marks. Has shown glimpses.
