To paint the picture. It's the first day that all the boys are back in town, about to get into their pre-season training. In the clubrooms they assemble, along with Ratts, Sticks, Swann, Icke and other key members of the CFC staff. Brock McLean and Lachlan Henderson enter together, still a little unsure of what to expect. There is a lot of chatter in the room, some nervous, some laughing, some excited.

Ratts then heads to the front of the assembled team and...FINISH THIS SENTENCE

says "Fev let the club down. The club is not about individuals, its about teams. Anyone who doesn't think we can win a premiership without Fevola please let me know now so I can make arrangements for you to spend your final season at Preston. At Carlton we don't want to field teams of champions, we field champion teams. How far we go as a club now is up to us".

Fev was silly....

But if youre going to throw Fev out the door youre capable of being ruthless to anyone.

I doubt Fev thought he wasnt bulletproof!!!

I think what this does is more or less lop off the head of bad culture monster...

..... which means a young group can now be entirely influenced by the Judds than by the Fevs....

Pretty good message.

Shouldnt have come to this ..... but it has and ultimately it should be destiny defining.

Hope so Synbad. That would be a very good positive to come out of all this.

If Ratten is thinking like this, and I suspect he is because, let's be honest, he ain't that bright, we are doomed.

It's as simple as this: Fev behaved disgustingly for the ten/eleven years we had him. I personally loved him and thought he was the most exciting player in the league to watch when he was on. But there is a way to behave and a way not to behave and he chose the latter.

Carlton have looked at it and thought, "what does it mean to our premiership chances losing him?" He's 28 so we have a small window and still no mature defence (great prospects, yes) or other forward options. There is no use making finals and finishing 7th.

I was not on board for the McLean deal but the more I think about it the more I think it makes sense. He is a strong body which we don't have. Sure, he is injured alot, but that was because Melbourne were so dependent on him.

The deal we did with Fev was great. Lachie Henderson is a promising young bloke with great raps. And to get a first round pick is so un-Carlton like. Think of all the stupid trades we have done in the past.

...and says "Now fellas we have a new member of staff, jimmae's his name and he's going to explain to you now how Shaun Grigg will be playing out of the goalsquare".

Otherwise...what Synbad said. This sends a great message to the group and hopefully a couple of other senior players are a little nervous.

Grigg out of the square is around about Plan T, while Fisher is Plan Z.
