Stephen Kernahan is the greatest hero of my life.

But that press conference was an absolutely absurd performance form the great man. I hope somebody puts up a link so everybody can listen to the utter incompetence with which he handled the media's questions.

The club should smell like roses today. We've offloaded the idiot.

But Sticks just could not deflect the questions from the media, and we look like we haven't "investigated" a sexual assualt.

It would have been so easy to say "we've had to take action, etc etc." and wash our hands of Fev completely. But no......

Instead, Sticks sounded like a stunned mullet (no pun intended) who had no preparation or understanding whatsoever.

That was embarrassing.

Wasn't his finest hour now was it.

Due to the nature of the accusation and innocent woman involved i can understand why he stumbled across his words as he did not want to say something he will regret.

I loved my previous job
I loved the company I worked for
I loved the people I worked with

Problem was I simply was no good at what I was doing

Therefore it was TIME TO GO MACFART

Sticks is in the same boat and that is why he must go

I agree, it was cringeworthy.
I dont want to put a dampener on what has been a positive day for the club but Tony Jones took him apart.
If the club feel the need to keep him as president, get in a better representative to deal with the media.

Greg Swann should have fronted the media.

Not sure why he wouldn't have insisted on it.

Its not his area of strength ryan, he shouldn't have been there...but that performance doesnt even compare to what Fev has done. You're smart enough to know the difference.

I don't understand why Sticks does media interviews.

I think they would be better handled by a CEO, or media manager.

Reading all your reviews, I think I may try to avoid listening to this.

+1

Sticks should be seen and not heard.

Sticks speaks well enough and he can get away with being a bit casual when its an informal chat with him about the game, but for a press conference about trading Fev away when we knew we'd be asked about the assault allegations we should have sent Swann.

Yes I posted same in another thread.

I cringed all the way through. Swan or Icke should have been there...big mistake by the club.

Sticks should never front up to journalists who are going to ask a hard question or two. Even when they're hack sports journalists like Tony Jones.

A bit sad really; a President/Chairman of an AFL club should be able to handle such a relatively straightforward task.

Apparently he struggled to say "allegedly".

We still love ya, Sticks. You're probably just not cut out for such a position.

He did have a little trouble with it.

Spot on sean, Sticks is great, but fronting an important press conference isn't where we should be using him.

His crust really is appeasing the Carlton throng.

Just not in a time of crisis.

He should be used like Billy Dugan in 'A League of Their Own': Comes out, smiles and waves his little hat.

He's out the front because all the fans love him, and with good reason we're all fond of him. His service to our club is right at the very, very top and his place in our history is under absolutely no threat. His honesty gets him into a bit of trouble, because he wears his heart on his sleeve he can be prone to bringing unwanted attention onto certain things.

However, his current position probably should be managed a bit better. Leave the talking to the smooth operators.

For the last however long it's been there has been a large section of Carlton supporters demanding to know what really went happened on that fateful night and what the club was doing about it. As members they believe they have a right to know what is going on with the club they support both with their hearts and their wallets.

Equally there has been a large section of Carlton supporters arguing that the inner workings of the club is not the domain of the supporter and that the spread of information about what went on that night would only seek to further damage the victims involved.

I agree with the latter, yet contend that members ought to know what is being done in regards to this incident, if not the particulars.

To hear from our President that there was no investigation into the matter, just a decision to trade Fevola, is frankly appalling.

If there was in fact an investigation as to what happened, the decision to say that there wasn't is perhaps even more baffling. Why on Earth would you want to appear as though you didn't want to know was going on?
