Make what u want of it but that candidate is Leigh Matthews.

funny you should mention that ... just so happens a blues fan colleague of mine whose source has some sort of link to kinnear beatson (ex lions recruiting guru now at swans i think) told me the very same thing a few weeks back!

he was also told by his source that carlton had spoken to neil craig, which apparently didn't go down all that well with the adelaide board.

i just laughed it off as typical end of season innuendo ... still think it is but found it weird to see it also posted here ...

Actually - It's not Lethal or Blighty...it's really Perc Bentley. You see when Perc died in 1982, the club felt that the man who coached the Blues to 2 flags in '45 and '47 deserved something which would see him held in perpetuity as part of Carlton's great history. With the help of then Prime Minister and Carlton fan Malcolm Fraser, a sub-committee was formed to oversee the immortalization of Perc through the process of cryonic preservation.

Perc was thawed out in a Los Angeles Medical Facility last month and will spend the next 14 months with former AFL coaches (Matthews and Blight included) to come up to speed with the modern nuances of 21st Century AFL football.

Oh good.....but by chance, could we get Bob Chitty back as well?

Freeze a jolly good fellow!

This can't be correct because the next coach is young and unknown - and Leigh Matthews is well known and over 50..

maybe the next coach is unknown amongst the young. By 2011, no 8 year old will have any idea who Leigh Matthews is.
