We've been reminiscing through the Locker Room and decided to have a look at the best Carlton teams by guernsey number. There are 6 teams here to have a look at, counting down to the guernsey that we think would field the best team.

Nicholls tapping down to Harford and Backwell may not be a popular option, but Team 11 has the Ruck's covered and Team 4 surely has a killer forward line...

That is a seriously great article.

Both imaginative, and very well researched.

Bravo to all involved.

Surely with Clover, hands and the Silvagni's the 16 #1's could beat some of the other teams...perhaps fill the #1 team in with guys who played in guernseys 45 and above to help 'em out

A great article and its a shame #1 didn't have enough players to field a team.

The only disappointment from my point of view is that our winning team is sullied with the guy who took the honor of wearing the #4 guernsey for one season before whiping his backside with it and bolting to St Kilda

As per the suggestion you could make a team from the #1's and those players from say #41 and above to make a competitive team....

#1...Hands, Walker, Silvagni Senior, SOS, Clover
#41... Brown (FF), Rohde, O'Sullivan, McCormick, Young
#42...Walls, Beasy(?)
#43...McKay, Koutoufides
#44...Madden, Carrazzo, Stone, Sankey
#45...McKenzie
#48...DOering, Matthews, Majerczak

B: Rohde, SOS, Doering
HB: J.Smith, Hands, Hocking
C: McCormick, Koutoufides, Majerczak
HF: McKenzie, Walls, O'Sullivan
F: McKay, Clover, Brown
R: Madden, Silvagni Senior, Walker
Int: Stone, Sankey, Young, Matthews

More premierships in one locker than some teams have in their trophy cabinet...

I thought Doug Beasy wore #17

Yes. This one would be Callan Beasy who played 13 games for the Blues in between 2002 and 2004.

If Callan Beasy gets a mention in that then surely Aaron Joseph deserves a spot!

Greg Wells wore #1 IIR as well. Briefly, though.
How many games did Bruce Doull play in #4??? That had me stumped. I watched him play many of his early games in the seventies but can't recall his wearing it. I thought he had a higher number early like 39 or something (Cliff Stewart notwithstanding)
Nice article and something different.
