To claim that Carlton cannot win a flag without Fev is an outrageous insult to the rest of the playing list, there are even some claiming we won't make the 8 without him. ARRANT NONSENSE.

I seem to recall hearing similar statements when Jezza departed under controversial circumstances in 1979.

Exactly right.

Yep, TC went into MELTDOWN in 1979 if I recall

!@#$%& Greg Swann. This decision reeks of non-Carltonism (is that a word) and could only be made by an outsider who is willing to risk our premiership over some stupid principle that he's set. Bottom line, he does this job for money, he will still get his money premiership or not.

Agreed. How much are we paying this clown? He is supposed to run the club and he allowed our star forward with a well known alcohol problem to go to a free all you can drink piss up with a camera on him. Well done Swanny, look like we're never getting that flag just like you couldn't get Collingwood one.

Fev doesn't have an alcohol problem.

He's just an idiot.

Big difference.

Great full forward though

Hellas, you are not aware of the full facts regarding Fev. It has not been released to the media, as our board is professional especially with Swanny and does not have the leaks that other clubs have. If the information, that I have heard is correct, then the club had no other alternative but to remove Fev from the club, especially if his relationship with his teammates has been destroyed. I think our biggest problem will now be, if we cannot get a deal done and he stays, can he mend the damage or will our club be divided. The club is always bigger than the individual. Swanny's and Icky's skills will be needed more than ever.

So it was only Carlton at the Brownlow and after party was it?

No one's posting anything other than what has been reported because it's bullsh!t.

It's alright when he's bending us over and having his way with us playing for Collingwood or whoever next year while we're still paying him mind you I'll remind you of what a great decision it was.

Hang on a second. You're making it sound like Greg Swann gave Fev free tickets to a nightclub opening or something. It was the Brownlow Medal dinner... black tie, AFL's night-of-nights... the most important off-field function in the AFL. He was there representing our club as the reigning Coleman medallist and All-Australian full-forward. Not only that, Fevola was there representing his other employer, Channel 9.

But sure. It's all Greg Swann's fault that Fev is too stupid to understand any of that, and got so pissed he did a whole bunch of things that he should regret for years to come.

Whoah!!! Not saying Fev getting pissed was Swann's fault, I'm saying he's behind fev getting the boot and like it or not he sure as hell has made a recommendation to the board and yes I do believe he has considered his own reputation in all of this. Like it or not that is my opinion and as Mrs Caz pointed out, I may be proven right.

Mate I know exactly what he did and I DO believe it was bad but he didn't do these things whilst he was straight, he was high on a cocktail of alcohol and painkillers......if the players can't comprehend this then they have issues ASAIC. Remember, NO ONE is bigger than the club and that goes for every player, not just Fev.

Besides a few ridiculous player/coach contract extensions the last few years, Swann's doing a top job.

Any word on tourism Malaysia getting on board again?

Yes TG, it's really a conspiracy.....by Eddie and Channel 9 to get Fev to Coll at a bargain basement price............actually, that's quite plausible

Hey, I won't enjoy him playing for another club, but I'm a bit more of a realist and can see that the decision hasn't been made 'just because".

There are very very good reasons why the Club has been pushed to their decision. you may not like it, you may not agree with it...but to carry on about how they've just made it for no reason at all is ridiculous.

Hellas isn't aware of what happened because the club doesn't have the leaks other clubs have....yet you know what happened...

And can I ask - WTF was he doing drinking while on painkillers? I'm no doctor, but it's a big NO-NO. To be excessively drinking while on pain killers, get real.

..wait a second, you are worried he'll kick a bag of goals against us if we trade him away?, so no matter what he does, we simply can't handle an opposition FF kicking a bag against us..?.. ..it's that much more terrible cos he's a former player..?..
