The world is made up of many self righteous people (many who post on this site Synbad) who have done no wrong in their lives. These people are usually the ones who themselves seek second and third chances when they flower up.
Fev is always used as a scape goat and is rarely lauded for the massive amounts of charity work he does or the generosity he shows to kids and fans, not to mention the millions he has earned the CFC through the marketing of his image.
It should be said that channel 9 are a bunch of flowers who showed no mercy what so ever with their selective film clip on the Footy show last week, (I wonder if they would have shown it if it was Alan Didak?).
Fev has had a wonderful season and career. and is by far the most irreplaceable player on our list. Unlike some other superstars of the competition who have 2 strikes against their names for failed drug tests, have saddled up with convicted murderers and have been charged with sexual assaults, Fev has never done anything that even comes close to this. In fact a recent retiree was seen being given a standing ovation as he journeyed around the MCG on grand final day, in the back of a car, having been involved in a hush money scenario some years ago....... what a bunch of hypocrites !!
Great clubs support their champions not isolate them and they have a responsibility to help rehabilitate Fev not trade him. Even greats like John Nicholls don't have a clean slate when you look back in history. I hope the captain is being supportive, like he was with Cousins, Kerr and Fletcher in Perth.
The fact is that most clubs would love to have Fev but are unable to fit his salary in their salary cap otherwise they would do it in a heartbeat. Ask Eddie if he would take him at Collingwood or Rodney Eade or Paul Roos.
A flower who called 3AW suggested we should take the lead from the Saints many years ago when they traded Barry Hall and the Pies who traded Chris Tarrant......... Surprise surprise they haven't won a flag !!
Time to cut him some slack and get behind him because without him the Carlton Football will be the poorer and we can forget our premiership window being in the next 2-3 years because it won't happen. As good as kreuzer and Waite are they will be much more dangerous as 2nd and 3rd forwards not having to worry about negotiating contests with Scarlett, Glass and Rutten.
I'm sure that the talk to trade Fev is a positioning excercise and will never eventuate.
I just hope the posters on this site show their true colours and support the bloke that has given them their greatest highlights and has won more games for us than any other player, in an otherwise dismal 7 years.
i think noone is self righteous... cos ive supported fev every time befor this time....
cos u have to understand that this is everyuthing he has ever done x 100 culminated into one night..
it was an act of selfishness.... where he has pushed his team mates aside for self gratification...
he has caused great harm to a number of people many of whom are carlton people...and his wife and kids
if we continue to turn a blind eye to this kind of brhaviour.. fev wont change and he will sink the ship....
look at the damage he caused singlehandedly.
i agree he wont be going anywhere... not cos we dont want him to tho...
and he will be made to sign a new contract so that if ever he does @#$%&! up again the contract wont be a concern...
and if he manages to become the kind of statesman we need.. im happy...
BUT UNLIKE YOU.... if he manages to turn his life around... ill be happier..
most of you only care about him as a goalkicker...
Youre all self righteous yourself.. having a go at him..., but you have never once thought about where he may end up if he continues his self destructive ways....
you wouldnt give a @#$%&! what happened when his goals dry up and he his ways havent changed....
so i care just as much for the club and for fev as you do.... just we care about them differently...
