I just dont get this line of thinking.
Some posters here will forgive everything and anything because a bloke can kick a !@#$%& football. The man is a first class flower. The only mistake this club made was not offloading him when he had greater value.

I feel sorry for Fev. He acts without thinking and when he screws up, I dont doubt his remorse but it's not enough. He wont change.
As Synbad says, the greatest pity is the effect his reckless behaviour will have on his life. Fev will end up with nothing.

what dont you get about this line of thinking? does anyone think we can win a flag without him? were stuck! there gonna have to put a no drinking clause in his contract, then pray he sticks to it. he has shown in the past he can. at least for 12 months anyway...

No doubt a Carlton without Fev will set us back a few years and with Brock saying that his move was due to the Demons assessment of them being 4 years away from finals, do you think it could make Brock reconsider his decision to join Carlton?

Smithy, i was on Fevs side when this all came to light but as more information slowly seeps out, i can see why plenty in the media are saying he must be moved on from the club.

For the greater good of this club i have no doubt the best thing is to move him on.

What doesn't break you, only makes you stronger. We have a strong club, strong support, strong leadership, a strong list and now its time for management to make the tough call and move on planning our 17th premiership

Can anyone actually tell us what else has come to light?????
Starting to feel like people are running with that just to justify their sack him stance.

Really, really pleased with some of the sensible posts I am seeing on this.

One thing which needs to be paramount is actually Fev... I'm not talking about Coleman Medallist Fev in 2008 and 2009, I am talking about Fev without footy and with three (?) kids and a wife in 2014.

The guy needs a boot up the backside. He needs to face his demons, and he needs to do it with real haste.

A boot up the backside would come from a trade. It would also come from us sitting him on the sidelines for at least 4-6 weeks next year.

But a boot up the backside doesn't come from a $10k fine and letting him basically sticking a finger up at the club again. I watched Today Tonight the other evening when they harrassed our captain because Fev hadn't stopped drinking despite Judd's efforts. It embarrassed our captain, and he didn't deserve it.

For Fev's sake we actually need to get tough... regardless of whether we as a club continue to enjoy his talents or not.

Even when this guy's on the park his value's so unpredictable. Singing the club song at the start of Q4 in the Elimenation Final is dumb for a 28 year old. Pumping himself up instead of doing the team thing. If he's a leader as some posters say others would follow right? Cost us a Finals victory in the end.
Then remorse as he sits on the ground at the end of the game head down, oblivious to team mates.
Two weeks later, at it again getting in everyone's face and intimidating senior people in football and the media at the AFL's night of nights...

Trade him.

WTF WTF WTF :screwy:

Did he really do that? I didn't hear of it.

They reported on the telly at 3qtr time break he was revving up the boys. Pleading for 30 more minute of footy. I didnt read or hear of singing song stuff. Might have happened but i dount it.

I would have thought applying pressure to a pressure point in an important final with so much at stake, admitting to it the next day and THEN fighting the charge to make it three weeks was more embarrassing then anything Fev has done in his time at Carlton......God forbid Fev had done the same thing.

The embarrassing thing about the Judd incident was taking it to the tribunal.

That said, I reckon I wouldn't be the only poster who could list at least 4-5 things Fev has done in his time at the club which have been more embarrassing.

Still... that overlooks my main point Hellas. What decision is in the interests of Fev as a 35 year old? When there is no footy and no footy show and the cash has dried up, and the tinnies are all that easier to reach because you don't have training the next day? Oh... and the kids are in the room next door looking for their dad?

A: leave the $10k fine as is?
B: trade him
C: hit him with a 4-6 week Bullants suspension

I'd say he needs to be made accountable for his actions sooner rather than later. For the sake of himself, and his wife and his kids. We'll see how the club goes with providing that accountability.

He's kept his nose clean this year apart from the Brownlow though, including Mad Monday.

From all reports, after the Brisbane final some of the blokes were up all night on the drink but Fevola stayed in his room because his kids were with him. Pretty sure that's correct but I could be wrong.

I love the way you defend him all the time Verbs... I really admire that you just stick by him

In all honesty though, you'd hope he'd have got the message before now. Yeah he's behaved himself this season to date (that we know about), but we've had the bar attendants, the urination, the dildos, the fights with the missus at Caulfield (or wherever they were), etc, etc, etc.

He needs a wakeup. That may mean staying (with a tougher penalty than $10k) or it may mean going. But he needs sterner stuff than what we've given him now.

I just love how all the posters on this thread wanting fev to be sacked or traded are bringing up any lil thing in the past to make their case have more value.

We have a lot of people on this site that should be in the age or herald sun :).

Fev probably misses the toilet seat all the time at the club too :)

You tell me. I'm not part of the team so it's impossible for me to answer your questions and to even try would be nothing more than engaging in idle gossip.
