Interested in your thoughts on what the club should do BV.

Personally I'd look to re-negotiate his contract with much more onerous clauses (alcohol, media, on and off field etc). I don't know whether that is possible but perhaps it would get the message through.

Well according to the headline at the HUN he is fighting for his career: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/brendan-fevola-is-battling-to-save-his-career-at-carlton-football-club/story-e6frf8w6-1225779305387

But I am not sure the text of the article actually gives great support to the headline... but I'll leave you guys to decide on that for yourselves.

What's different about Fevola is that he wants and demands that he does this crap on national TV and thrusts it under our noses. I agree that Channel Eddie's Footy Show aids and abets this, always has, and then shakes its head and tut-tuts. We talk of this guy needing help but surely he can make a decision for himself not to have another drink and not to horn in on Juddy being interviewed.
Fevola thinks he's setting himself up for a media career with this stuff. He kids himself that any publicity's good publicity. It will only stop when he realises he's torpedoing his chances of a career in the media. Stand by for a remorseful statement crafted by his PR flak. But it's still all about Fev and his desire to stay in front of us on our TV screens.
If the AFL really wants to do something other than tut-tut and change his behaviour it should withdraw his journalistic accreditation for AFL functions. Carlton could stop pumping up Fevola to the media.

It's the footy shows fault. It's crowns fault. It's his team mates fault. It's channel 7's fault and channel 9 too.
Besides, what man with 2 kids and a pregnant wife doesn't try to "grope a few hotties" Apparently it's perfectly normal behaviour.
And let's forget the best, anyone who doesn't have the same low standards as some here, isn't a true supporter!

It's amazing what stupidity we'll accept and make excuses for because someone can kick a leather ball.

That's assuming these people think it's an issue to start with, BV. The problem is that many people on these forums that support football genuinly think it's okay to 'grope the chicks' and act like a flog. They actually use people like Fev as an icon of life.

And when you think about it, Fev is just a bogan who can play footy, not a footy player who's become a bogan.

Still blame channel 9 for allowing Fev to do it pissed in the first place.
Still blame the Crown for serving alcohol to an intoxicated person.

Ch 9 yes, Crown no.

Places that hold a liquor license under law are not allowed to supply alcohol to a person who are intoxicated.

If that was you or me that pissed at crown carrying on like that, we would have been kicked out pretty quick smart.

This is crap.
why dont we blame, juddy, gibba, murph, twiggley, alex and everyone else that was on the table...they where in closer proximity to fev.......
fact is, he acts like a 18-20 when he doesnt drink, and acts like a 16 when he drinks. lepard doesnt change its spots.
RE: the footy show: swaring at your captain when he was walking off? i dont care who you are or what profession you are in, that was utterly disrespectful!

You should take a lesson in reading and comprehension. There's a few on here who actually get it, obviously you're one who either can't or just refuses to. Either way, it's not my problem.

verbs, even Fev is now apologising for his behaviour, the same behaviour that you say he has nothing to apologise for and that we are all crazy to suggest he should.

Make no mistake this is The Footy Show trying to get ratings. They have no other material apart from getting Crawfs to break records and Fev getting tanked. Another thing, have we all gone so soft that its wrong to do any of the above. Did the guy rape someone? sell or take drugs? Physically harm anyone? NO, NO and NO

.. ..err, tryin' to grope a few hotties is very much a no-no, unless said hotties wanna be groped.. ..if yer almost 30, got a third kid very much on the way, have a somewhat rocky marriage, have camera crews following you around.. ..yeah, tryin' to grope a few hotties is a very bad idea.. ..also, don't put Fev in the same category as the avg dude out on the town either.. .. ..and don't forget that it's a blase' reaction to the consequences of bad drunken behaviour that's helped turn the city streets [and tight govt that won't put enuff cops out, diff thread datta one]..

Are you from the same school as Phoenix? Find a post where I have said that Fevola has nothing to apologise about and that you are crazy to suggest he should.

Read this post of mine from a few days back:

"The truth is only relevant to those who are high and mighty enough to pass judgement on him. To ordinary people it is irrelevant. It doesn't impact our lives, it never has and never will and we're not stupid enough to pretend it does."

or

"You get all high and mighty and make assumptions about what I think when in fact you don't even know. All you know is what you're spoon fed by the media. If Fevola came up to me and drunkenly swore at me and licked my ear and invaded my personal space, yeah I'd have a problem with it. Sitting here with my laptop, I have no problem with Fevola's personal life because it hasn't impacted on mine in any way shape or form, and I'm not deluded enough to get on my high horse and bleat like a moron"

If you want to make things up, go ahead, but it's not my problem if you can't comprehend simple written words.

Pretty poor by channel 9 to air it to be honest, even if they did show a clean version.

No one would be more embarrassed than Fev, real kick in the guts having it shown to the millions of people watching.

For the record Cooney looked to be in a similar state to Fevola yet I haven't heard anything about him. He was the one responsible for the drink 'going into the crowd'. :screwy:

Personally, in my opinion Ch9 just do what they have to do. Their actions are determined by what's in their best interest and that's what's going to get viewers.

Then they should ALL be closed down, and Melbourne renamed Lahore.

Wouldn't emapthy be feeling sorry for Fevola? Can't say I even feel that to be honest. It's an incident which has no real meaning in my life, and I'm amazed it has so much meaning in other people's lives. If I was mates with Fevola I probably would feel empathy, a little bit. Not a great amount though.

Maybe that wouldnt be such a bad idea... considering all the harm and hurt that arises cos people have no idea how to drink...

You're a strange individual  .

Posting on TC is a hobby. If you want to stretch the boundaries of reality then I suppose you could argue that because the incident happened and it's being discussed on TC that it has meaning in my life, but that would be something a leftist hippy greeny would come up with, not a logical clear thinking conservative.
