He took a swag of points home this year.

He will only get better in a team that is getting better.

Only question is if Judd, Murphy and co. are also cleaning up, will they take points off each other?

Thoughts?

..lookin' to be an umpy's "pet" early on hey.. ..i thought he got some votes in games where he was outdone by others.. ..a couple of games Juddles didn't even get a vote when i thought he was a shoe-in, he could have gone alot closer to gazza and really give him a weepy scare..

Yeah I thought Judd was robbed not getting a vote for the Saints game. If ever there was an example of a player picking up the team and carrying it on his back, that was it.

I was rapt that our big three - Judd Murph and Gibbs - polled 50 odd points between them.

I reckon Murph will be the next Blue for the Brownlow. He'll continue kicking 2-3 goals a game which umps notice. He also picks up 1s and 2s when we lose.

All the big 4 will be vote magnets when we're winning flags.

I'd swap all the Brownlow's in the world for premierships. I reckon Chris Judd will have cost himself a brownlow or two because of the role he has to play at our club. The role is quite different to his role at WCE and although it is still noticable it is less noticable.

QFMFT - Even the Saints supporters that I know will readily admit that if Judd plays a full last quarter, the result changes.

I find that Gibbs' sidesteps and movement in the packs looks more amazing the closer you get to the action. Imagine what the umpires must think

I reckon it might be worth plonking $10 on each of Gibbs and/or Murph for the 2010 Charlie.

Reiwoldt getting 3, and Bower/Juddy going voteless was a disgrace...

anyway..

Gibbs 1st and last quarters of the season we're Veeeeery good. If he finds a way to be consistent the whole season, he will EASILY one of the leauges premier players and deserving of a brownlow imo

He had a beautiful season for a 20 year old and to finish top 10 in the Brownlow is a sure sign of class. Opposition supporters bag him out of fear. He's too soft. Doesn't get any hard ball. Is a downhill skiier. Has it easy because of Judd and Murphy. Is too slow.

He averaged more than 7 contested possessions a game in 2009, had almost 100 tackles and over 600 possessions, 15 goals and 34 assists. If that's poor then I'll take that every day of the week.

I can accept that the final against Brisbane wasn't one of his better performances in 2009, and that has been used by opposition clowns to say he goes missing in big games.

For the record he still had 18 disposals at near 80% efficiency. Dane Swan managed 17 at 71% against Geelong.

Hard to say when he'll win a Brownlow but I reckon providing he doesn't get injured he'll definitely poll 20 plus votes next year.

Is pure class.

As for Judd/Bower going voteless, I remember in the 90's, Liam Pickering had the most disposals in the AFL and didn't get a vote for the year. His disposal was Awesome

Gibbs will win a Brownlow, and if we are a top 2 or 3 team for a few years, theres a good chance there will be a few among himself, judd, and murph.

Taking votes off each other is a myth. Look at nearly every Brownlow winner in the past decade. They are nearly all from a top 2 side, and nearly all had gun midfields around them taking votes off each other.

2000 Woewoedin - grand finalists
2001 Akermanis - Premiers, with the awesome foursome "stealing votes"
2002 Black - Premiers, with the awesome foursome "stealing votes"
2003 - a bit of an exception with all 3 winning
2004 Judd - WC on the way up, playing in a champion midfield
2005 Cousins - grand finalists, playing in a champion midfield
2006 Goodes - grand finalists
2007 Bartel - Premiers, again with a lot of champion midfielders
2008 Cooney - 3rd place
2009 Ablett - Premiers, in a champion midfield.

So history shows the top teams win the brownlows. And every year we are a top 4 team there will be a big chance of one of our guns winning the brownlow
