GOLD COAST

To be honest NBH, I doubt the GC would go anywhere near him.

#1 he'll be 30 years old and #2 they'll have a team full of young gun players that don't want to be going down to Caville Ave with an old alco like BF.

The club is now stuffed with this issue. Fev's worth bugger all on the market and less at the club. Most people here will try to blow it off as being a big deal over nothing, but the facts suggest now that the entire country is disgusted, including politicians to sporting heads and social commontators.

Rightly or wrongly the heat is on.

We've backed ourselves into a position where we've got nowhere to go. We now have to deal with this bozo.

I'd suggest we say to Fev that we will be trading him this year. If he refuses and says he wants to play out his contract at Carlton, we simply tell him that this contract will be his last. As of 2011 he will not be offered another contract at the CFC and he can then take his chances in the 2011 PSD, or the best offer at that time for a 30 year old narcissist.

Any sign of dissent shown on or off the field will come with a 4 game ban(hopefully that will affect his match payments).

I'd still be holding out hope of a Sydney trade at this draft although we won't get much back after this episode.

So you want to trade him but don't think we'll get much back in return...

So you're trading him for what?

A "good" reputation for your club as a "progressive" corporate citizen?

The only person backing themselves into a corner is you.

Yep - Fev got pissed.

Again.

Did anyone other than your high horse take a beating?

Barry Hall beats the living bejesus out of people one after the other and he's got a shot at a premiership next year.

The Swans don't.

But we should trade Fev for "bugger all". :screwy:

Trying to judge and punish Fev is like trying to do the same to a person with schizophrenia,or bi-polar disease.
It's not an aww shucks aint he lovable v hang him situation.
He has a bad sensitivity to alcohol.
Whether that means alcoholic exactly who can say....but AA and or, mentor/counselling for a long, long time seems the wisest, most compassionate way to go.
Fev has at least one...probably two addictions.
He needs help.
Not condemnation.
I'm sure all the other clubs and supporters would be thrilled to see us let Brendan go.
But he is a big part of the beating Carlton heart.
I want to see him there in finals for the next few years.
I love his passion, and his on field brilliance.
I want to feel that as a club,we support him properly to help him beat his demons, and grow into full maturity as a leader at the club, and in his personal life as well.
he has given us so many fantastic memories, and laughs,as well as groans.
I believe in the Fev.
People can, and do grow and change.
Why not expect the best from him.
he already improved this year...holding off till after the playing season.
He'll be even better next year....with a lot of support.

...for the futuire of the CFC GWS, that's what you're trading him for. We've got some of the best footballers in the land that are being damaged every day this clown walks in the door. He's got serious mental problems and we're giving him access to champions of the game. That's got to be the dumbest thing the club could do.

In case you haven't read between the lines GWS, it was a little more than a few beers. For gods aske, open you @#$%&! eyes and take in what he's doing to your club.

I'd trade him for the right deal (I'd trade Judd or anyone else for the right deal) but I'm not happy to trade him in order to enhance our reputation and not for "bugger all".

If Brendan had punched someone out that night I'd feel differnetly but from what I've heard he simply acted like a dick and if we're going to trade any footballer who acts like a dick we're going to have about three blokes on the list (and the other 15 clubs are no different).

Edit: Just read the bit about the alleged sexual harrassment. If proven I'm willing to change my mind on what we get for him at the trade table (still don't want bugger all though  ).

So it's OK to harass women,as long as he doesn't belt their fellas?

I didn't want to get rid of him because he can't sing. It's obvious what he did on the night was considerably more than just having a bit of fun. This is our fault for not getting rid of this rotting apple earlier.

The only way to go forward is to cut our losses and move on. If Sydney want/need a personality they'll have to pony up. If not he either stays on our list, or we ship him off to someone else for whatever we can get.

Would it hurt to whisper his name during trade week?

a. we might get an offer too good to refuse
b. we may get no interest and Fev may realise it's not all about him

A lot of what I've read in this thread and heard on radio is putting the blame on everyone else but Fev himself. Ch7 are to blame for showing drunken footage, ch.9 are to blame for giving him a microphone, Crown Casino are to blame for supplying him beer, AFL are to blame for allowing the party to go on too long, Carlton officials are to blame for not watching him etc... FFS, Brendan has let this club down time and time again with an attitude the borders on disrespect. Each time we hear from his own mouth that alcohol is to blame and he shouldn't drink. Well here's an idea Brendan, don't flower drink.

This club and everyone associated with it has moved heaven and earth to get us back on our feet and rid us from all the negative shiit from the dark days, yet one link still survives. It's all good to punish fringe players for minor discretion's but what message is sent to the playing group when this clown gets away with everything?

Personally, I no longer care if he's at the club next year.

strange as it may sound, I actually think whats happened DOES set a good example to the younger players. They would be looking at the ridicule and embrassment that Fev has earned for himself and the club, then compare that to Judd, Murphy and Gibbs, and they'd be sayign to themselves, "they are who I want to be like".

Just my 2c.

So he enjoyed himself. He needs to be more aware of where the cameras are if he is going to have such a good time. Even Juddy was smiling

My only issue with it is that he is recovering from surgery and alcohol can inhibit the recovery process. Also I don't know how it affects his fitness / health.

Fev with alcohol reminds me of the pringles advertisement. Once you pop you can't stop.

The first step is to admit you have a problem.

The Herald Sun has learned that an out-of-control Fevola sexually harassed a young woman -- making lewd comments and suggestions -- at the Crown casino after-party on Monday night following the departure of his six months' pregnant wife, Alex. Carlton chiefs refused to sack the $750,000-a-season forward and instead imposed a $10,000 fine for "unacceptable behaviour" -- just 1.3 per cent of his salary.

I hope this doesn't have anything to do with Gibbsy's girlfriend crying..

It will be great if they can learn from this with Fev as far away from us as possible.

If he's still there next year, it will be a green light to Yarran, Murphy, Gartlett, Gibbs, Betts, etc etc that the rules are - no rules.

My god halt the presses!!!!! A bloke got drunk at an end of season function, made a dill of himself, threw up, was asked to leave cos he had too much.....sack him!!!!! Fevola isnt hurting anybody but himself, i bet Simon Black and Adam Goodes were just as pissed as Fev during and after the Brownlow, [EDIT] high maintenance WAGs and vomited on the way home! Haven't heard a thing about it though cos their "cleanskins"!

I'm upset when Fev gets blotto during the season, couldn't care less if he gets wiped out in the off season , its his choice and his life! He has to answer to himself and his family during his own time (holidays) and nobody else including the club.

Those suggesting we should trade him after this incident [EDIT], Full Forwards who win Colemans and bring people through the door dont come around every day if you haven't noticed. He is a champion and an iconic figure of the game, different from the everyday Joe that we get served up with, the club knows this and unless he belts somebody in a pub or [EDIT] he's going nowhere, furthermore the media knows this and thats why he's front page news for having a few too many beers and falling over himself.

He's got to tone it down a little for his own sake but @#$%&! me what an overreaction!

You may choose to laugh off the drunk flower part of the night, but you cant laugh off the sexual harassment issue that has come to light.

But chucky, he's a full forward, they don't grow on trees ya know.

Of course he's allowed to sexually harrass young [edit] girls - in fact, that's what they're there for.
