Fevola's already said that Swann's spoken to him.

Whilst I agree that Fev was obviously obnoxious, does it really matter?

So he won't be appearing on a crap footy program.

Big deal.

Perspective.

In all serious, I think Swanny, should go get the tapes of street talk off Channel 9 and any other footage.

Sit him down with the leadership group and directors.

Press Play on the video player and say 'seeing you can't remember, this was you on Brownlow Nite, do you think this is acceptable and what will you do about it?'

If there is anything more embarrassing in life, it would be watching your self as a drunk tool in front of your bosses and fellow players.

That would be 10 times worse then missing a few games of football.

...and that would be presuming he was a normal person. Fev would light up with that kind of attention. That's what he does it for.

I think Fev did go a little over board, but please as mentioned in previous posts he is not that bad he did not rape anyone, bash anyone yes he may affend some people but every weekend just go down the pub and you will see other people doing the same thing he is only human.

The person who took the video of him having a good time and singing only did so for the money so they could sell it to the paper.........

He is still the same player who plays and is passionate to his team and club he also enjoys life lighten up and let him be Fev....number 1 goal scorer for the afl 2009. :donk:

Im sitting here reading all this thinking the bloke just had a few too many, there is lots of arguments for both sides here. Im interested to see what he actually did before i make judgement because im certain the videos posted on the heraldsun arent the worst of it just waiting till everything comes out. But what do we do. I am a massive supporter of Fev and dont think trading or delisting is the answer.

I also seem not to have the high moral code as people on this forum and other footy forums in the sense that i dont think getting pissed is an extremley offensive thing for a man of his twentys to do.

I might also add I have donated and been involved with various church charities around south east melbourne. Just so everyone knows I am not a derelic that condones criminal or unethical behaivour.

If Fev has commited any crime I will be the first to say something needs to be done.

If he has offended someone through his drunken antics maybe he should apologise and let people now hes just a big clown especially on the juice. Ive been guilty of that in the past and as I know many people have.

I now the CFC means alot to many many people and we get hurt and upset when our great club has been cast in any negative light. But I just dont like how the media bites down on these players and adds a massive amount of fuel to the fire. We have just come out of the global financial crisis where billions of dollars was stolen from our superfunds and invesments and casuing many people to default on there mortgage but i dont see there names and videos constantly in the herald sun?

Its just a shame that people get sucked in all in the name of selling papers and the lives of young footballers being a commodity in the media.

Maybe there is something I am missing (more to the story), I hope Im right about Fev because if Im not then Ill be shattered because it means those who want him gone may actually be right.

He's yours for pick 2?

I'd have to be more drunk than Fev to do that deal, thanks.
Off-field problems ignored, he's talented enough for that pick, but too old for our cycle.

I think Carlton really has to look hard at your cycle:
Winning flags is all about elite talent and you've stockpiled your fair share.
Judd, Waite, Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer - there's at least 5 years of window there.
Fev probably has 2 more dominant years - that means you need to back in that you'll strike with him in that time or trade him now while he has value and extend your cycle. The thing is that if you trader him for a high pick that player wouldn't mature for 2 or 3 years and would only overlap Judd and Waite by 2-3 years.

Some of you are right....who cares what Fev or any one else does at a public function where the entire football community can see him.
Who cares what he did in Ireland. Who cares when he spits the dummy on the field. Who cares when he doesn't chase.

I've been overseas and i got in a fight. I've spat the dummy at someone during a football match. My mate never chases in a football match because he's overweight and says he cant be fu^*##. But hell i'm Australian and so is my mate. Thats what we do. So Fev should do it to!!!!

What an absolute joke this thread is. The fact that some people see this as perfectly acceptable or just another 'Fev' moment is pretty damn ridiculous.

How long can we put up with this sort of embarrassment. Is it 'cool' to have our 21 year old future star Marc Murphy telling his 28 year old senior team mate that enough is enough and having to carry him out?

Some people need to grow up on here and realise that Football is not just about what happens on the saturday or the sunday.
And dont say lighten up or you take life to seriously because no one is telling Brendan not to have fun and no one is stopping him from having fun.

Fun is not embarresing the club himself and most likely his wife infront of the afl community.
For the Carlton football club to become a powerhouse once again we need to comand respect. These sorts of antics do not command respect, it makes us look like a complete rabble because it's the guys 5th offence.

Jason Gram missed a physio appointment and thus was not allowed to play that week. That is a club that demands perfection. They are playing in a grand final this weekend.

Fev had mad monday to 'cool off'. Smoking ciggies and getting trashed is no way for a guy that is getting paid a hell of a lot of money to treat his body. Be it during the year or during the off season.
He clearly does not care about anyone bar himself.

What's more embarrassing is that you think his behaviour is acceptable.

Perhaps you should take a deep breath and read GWS's post.

You get all high and mighty and make assumptions about what I think when in fact you don't even know. All you know is what you're spoon fed by the media. If Fevola came up to me and drunkenly swore at me and licked my ear and invaded my personal space, yeah I'd have a problem with it. Sitting here with my laptop, I have no problem with Fevola's personal life because it hasn't impacted on mine in any way shape or form, and I'm not deluded enough to get on my high horse and bleat like a moron.

Well given the amount supporting his behaviour, lets pass the tin around and get his all kick in. I mean he's done nothing wrong so surely the club are just picking on him. we will need to open up a thread condeming Swan for the clubs terribel actions on the poor soul.

I look forwward to using some of the reasoning here with my companies HR after I go ballistic at the christmas function.

I take it you expect all of us to talk about your private life then?

I'll get onto the HS to follow you around when you're next out and we'll all be able to tut tut when you do bad karaoke.

If you're embarrassed because of something a footballer did in public you're going to spend a lot of your life with a rather red face.

You're a laugh mate.

He had TFS cameras following him around all night. that was the 'media storm' around him in that video. He was aware of this as he was getting paid for this.

I might go out into the street and run some little kids over. You might read about it in the paper but as far as you're concerned its just gossip. You wont know them so it wont affect your life. So based on your logic there's nothing wrong with what i'm doing.

Keep it up!!

Is there a dust storm up there on the high moral ground?

What penalty should be imposed on channel 9, whose brief to Fev was obviously to interview players whilst he was intoxicated?
Interesting that he was employed to go to the brownlow and get drunk and that is exactly what he did.
Channel 9 should take some responsibility for perpetuating the joke of drunken interviewers at major events like the brownlow and the logies.

I'm not excusing Fev, but i can't believe the attitude of some people.
We love his eccentricity but we want him to be vanilla
Well he's not so get over it

I was acquainted with a gun AFL player who liked a drink or 50. A premiership player, and the idol
of thousands. And probably rightly described as a bloody good bloke.
Trouble was too much grog was nowhere near enough. But his fans would say ''hey get off his back, as long as he plays well, who's he hurting'' ?

His name was Darren Millane.
