That is true, but im just saying that i dont think he would of expected to be so drunk, and when u drunk you do things you regret. Everyones been drunk and regretted things. This is a lot worse because its in the lime light.

Could be the best thing he has ever done aswell, could you imagine if he realises he has got a problem now and doesnt drink for the rest of his career and gets help. Thats the positive l hope comes out of this.

before this came to light I wanted him traded, preferably to the bulldogs for two good players. More based on his currency then his behaviour - brave clubs make brave decisions, he is our Richo - Richmond would have been miles better off trading him when they had the chance.

So what are the rules we are imposing on players, or Fev in this case? That he doesn't drink? Or that he can drink but not get in the media about it? I just don't understand where we want to draw the line and how much of a footballers civil liberties we think we can impinge. Is Fev now on his break, technically annual leave? Do the club have rights there? I have never been one of these people who think that these footballers have an obligation to behave as an entity to themselves and with specific conditions. I understand they are public figures and that carries expectations but how much can clubs or the AFL impose on these players and try and penalise them. I certainly wouldn't put up with all these restrictions and constraints.

Some of you jump the gun and want to start imposing ridiculous penalties and sanctions as if these people are not entitled to the freedoms we get. I certainly would challenge my employer if this was the case. Fev is targeted and maybe he should be more careful with how he conducts himself but AFAIC he is doing what every other Australian has the right to do and therefore IMO he doesn't deserve to be lambasted. We have all been brainwashed to comply with a set of standards fed to us by a hypocritical media contingent who seem to think they are the moral, ethical and behavioural standard setters for society, especially footballers in this case.

And why do you think that this time would be any different to the numerous other times that he has been drunk? If he hasnt learnt from the half dozen other drunken episodes, why would he learn from this one?
