And why do you think that this time would be any different to the numerous other times that he has been drunk? If he hasnt learnt from the half dozen other drunken episodes, why would he learn from this one?

At least he made it to the show unlike Aker!?

The worst I've heard on here is Gibbsy's girl was crying. If Fev had something to do with that I'd be more angry about him.

The singing video I saw was nothing. Go to any wedding and you'll see that.

Ch9 can't get to precious about setting abloke up to get pissed and try to make people laugh for their show and when it goes pear they make a "song and dance" about it. :donk:

Ironic that Bulldogs know they cant win a flag without a key forward and some of you guys want to trade our key forward so we can be like the bulldogs, because a guy got pissed during an event that people get drunk in.

Glad your not running the club.

I think it's ironic that you guys tell us how much he loves our club, yet he keeps pissing on it like a Prahran restaurant window  .

He obviously loves our club like he loves his wife.......No respect.

It's like living in San Francisco and waiting for the big one to hit.

So what are the rules we are imposing on players, or Fev in this case? That he doesn't drink? Or that he can drink but not get in the media about it? I just don't understand where we want to draw the line and how much of a footballers civil liberties we think we can impinge. Is Fev now on his break, technically annual leave? Do the club have rights there? I have never been one of these people who think that these footballers have an obligation to behave as an entity to themselves and with specific conditions. I understand they are public figures and that carries expectations but how much can clubs or the AFL impose on these players and try and penalise them. I certainly wouldn't put up with all these restrictions and constraints.

The HS video is totally harmless - big deal he was singing! Shock, horror!

Some of you jump the gun and want to start imposing ridiculous penalties and sanctions as if these people are not entitled to the freedoms we get. I certainly would challenge my employer if this was the case. Fev is targeted and maybe he should be more careful with how he conducts himself but AFAIC he is doing what every other Australian has the right to do and therefore IMO he doesn't deserve to be lambasted. We have all been brainwashed to comply with a set of standards fed to us by a hypocritical media contingent who seem to think they are the moral, ethical and behavioural standard setters for society, especially footballers in this case.

You can't even fart without being fined.

I'll be locked up as I couldn't afford the fines.

You said it, there is absolutely no excuse for playing sh*t music from the 80's..
Hell even Fev's sh*t singing improved the song....well maybe not!

That if you get pissed post-season, you won’t top the AFL goal kicking. Hang on a second................

I was never much of a footballer but I always dreamt of playing for Carlton and making the big league.
I tell you what though, I am glad I was just an average Joe blow who never amounted to much in a sporting sense and had to put up with a public profile and was therefore able to carry on like Fev did through my late teens and even into my 30's, sometimes a few times a week and get up to a lot worse than Fev did and have a sh!tload of fun. Great memories and no-one telling me not to do this and not to do that.

And I certainly never begrudge the sums of money these players get. I would want a lot more compensation for the total loss of privacy and having to endure a quasi-house arrest whenever I was out and wanting to let my hair down like thousands of like-minded blokes do every weekend

He was very regretful. Didn't quite go as far as to say he's giving up the grog, but I think he admitted it's an issue for him.

Well that makes it all ok then, because this time, unlike every other time, he 'means' it.

Each time, Fev brings out his usual oops spin.

He will not learn, which is unfortunate for our club.

From this supporters perspective, it's sad to see the club being made to look weak in it's tolerance of Fevs' disrespect for them.

According to Doctor Tuf on SEN this morning Fev has been sacked from the Footy Show for next year and his Brownlow street talk will not be shown not only because he was very drunk and swearing but also because he slapped one of the FTS staff who was with him, upset a couple of AFL heavyweights, got a bit crude with some of the WAGS and also had a disagreement with Juddy. He seemed to think the club will call him in for a discussion.

Now on Triple M this morning Fev stated he couldn't remember anything he had done at the Brownlow but that he obviously can't hold his drink and didn't mean to offend anyone. I think the big problem is that even when he was advised that he had drunk more than enough and was starting to make an ass of himself he didn't listen to his wife or team mates and it may be a very costly exercise.

Last time I looked, the issue of Fev making a dick of himself at the brownlow was not on the agenda at the UN this week.

Fev's an easy target, always gives something to the media on a plate.

While we have this myth peddled that players are role models, we are going to keep having this circus.

Criminal behaviour is one thing, misdemeanours and making yourself look silly because you don't know when to stop drinking is something totally different.

I don't care what Fev or any other player does in his own time (with the above exception), as long as he gives his all when he trains and plays for Carlton that matters to me.

That dear TC'ers is a totally different kettle of fish.

It never ceases to amaze me how people on both sides of the argument can go to extremes in their thinking.

Of course footy players can have a drink at a function. Of course they can sing crap karaoke at an after-party.

But if you are at an industry sanctioned gala event, representing your employer and your customers, That is publicly available for hundreds of thousands of people to witness, I would think it would be expected that you didn't get so drunk that you turned into a foul-mouthed drunken obnoxious yobbo. Shades of John Elliott's party behaviour to me.

I don't want Fev sacked from our club, but I certainly would like it if he worked out he could still be the lovable larrikan without becoming a laughingstock, and grew up just a fraction.

Been thinking about this a bit and I've come to the conclusion that this could all be a blessing in disguise I reckon. No doubt if the reports are all true then he definately carried on like a bit of a dill but if this costs him his channel 9 gig then a little less time in the media may do him the world of good. For one - I dont think I've even seen Fev on the tv and someone (usually Sammy) not trying to take the piss out of him! He doesnt make it all that difficult for them lets be honest - but working in the media generally raises your profile. With Fev its done the exact opposite. And secondly - I dont think CFC have been all that keen on his media commitments anyway so having him off the tv and focused 100% on his footy may be exactly what he needs.

Excluding this indiscretion, Fev has been fairly well behaved over the last 24 months and a leader at the club. And the one big difference this time around is that we now have a captain by the name of C Judd! I reckon he commands more respect than any other captain in the comp and I reckon whilst this may be Judds biggest ever challenge in football he may be the only person who can get him off the piss (most of the time anyway) and if he can get Fev to understand that he is capable of being one of the great forwards of our game and has a legitimate chance of playing in our next premiership over the next 3-5 years then perhaps finally the penny may drop!! We can only hope...

Yea lets set some standards. If we expect CFC players to be A grade citizens i think the members should be too.

Grand Final day - All Carlton Members
*No member can have more then 3 beers during the grand final game.
*No member can be over 0.05
*You can not urinate on the lemon tree, must use toilet (Would be unprofessional)
* Must leave toilet seat down.
* No yelling during the game, as that may disturb neighbours.
* Have to watch the game wearing neat casual/suit. (Must be professional members)
* Need to be home by 9PM.

Any more standards? :)

Ummm, thats me at every game ( 'cept I don't drink) Usually though I end up sitting near the Samboymolloys of the world

..lookit, ppl aren't carrying on cos he got drunk.. ..it's what he does when drunk that is the issue.. ..rumours are he 'went too far' towards some wag's, which is not only in poor taste, but considering current afl and club stances towards treatment towards women etc etc,, he could have really made an idiot of himself.. ..also he could have very well upset team-mates, which is certainly pretty crap behaviour from him.. ..in one 'street-talk' interview with Murphos, after apparently ranting on to him about the umps [smart move there], he then went on to bag Murphos' delivery to him in the F50.. ..even poorer form from Fev.. ..imagine if one of the other blue boys got drunk and went on to bag Fev's poor games, ot get stuck into him for 'losing against the hawks' for example..

..have very little faith in the club doing anything meaningful about this though.. ..like i said earlier, the club only makes 'a stance' against it's easy/soft targets.... ..still don't think our club has any spine, and whatever shred of respect/integrity we gained in getting the Judd is swiftly evaporating..

I was the same Marci, but I'd have done anything to play for the Blues. Having battled to get there I'd do everything possible to keep my spot and give 100% respect for the club.

I wonder how the boys who've got the axe hovering above their heads next week would feel. We've got blokes who battled their way on to the rookie list and have handled themselves like adults since the day they were drafted at 7/18.

Now they're about to be thrown back into the real world while Fev will continue on making a dick of himself in the AFL. If he doesn't like it, he should stand down and let someone who wants to be there take his place.

Fev's biggest problem is he has to be the centre of attention. It shows on the field, in public and in private. He can't help himself.

He's a self destructing, self obsessed loonatic.
