Draw will be similar to this year

Essendon* x 2
Richmond x 2
Collingwood x 2

I suspect St. Kilda and Geelong would want us twice to get the crowds.

Lets only hope that the club doesn't sell any more games.

We must work out how to beat St. Kilda, Hawthorn and Adelaide.

At a basic level, top 5 at a minimum and top four is not unreasonable.

At a broader level however, my expectations are as follows:
  • Develop better team structures and be better drilled in them. In particular: A forward structure involving Fev and Kreuze, that gives one of them space, and allows our small forwards to crumb. A forward structure that doesn't involve Betts consistently being a lead up forward. Teams have worked out how to play him in that role now.
  • Defensively speaking: the glaring deficiency is our kick-ins. We need to fix this. If it is still a big problem next year, we have serious coaching/communication or talent issues.
  • An improvement in defensive pressure across the midfield and forward areas. I thought the downhill skiers comment a bit rough, but not by a lot.
  • Mental toughness & gut running. I don't know if our 4th quarter fade out was caused by a lack of fitness or mental toughness, but we can't afford to stop running like that when the pressure is on. We need someone to develop into a tough, hard-nosed bastard in our midfield. Someone who will run all day, and will put in some physical hard yards. (Maybe Grigg could develop into this role?).
  • Winning more than half centre clearances. With Warnock and Hammer, and our midfield, I expect us to be winning more centre clearances than our opponents in most games.
  • End our poor run against the Saints and the Crows.
  • Our Coaching department bolstered with Ratts given some quality assistance, and for Ratts to have improved enough by the end of next year most people (even in TC) think he can take us to No. 17.

If we haven't improved significantly in most of these areas, I will not be a happy camper. However, I'm expecting to be happy should I go camping as I think we are well and truly on the way up. A lot of work to be done, and plenty of hard metres to go, but I'm confident. Hey, we're Carlton.. #$%%@ the rest. (And Jabba for good measure).

This year we got Melbourne, North Melbourne and Port Adelaide only once.....fingers crossed we play them twice next year.

Finally get rid of the following:
Houlihan - soft
Stevens - fat
Russell - turnover merchant
Scotland - goes round in circles
Thornton - chip chip chip
Walker - can't kick
Murphy - no defensive efforts
Gibbs - soft
Simpson - no right foot and inconsistent
Bentick - too slow
Hadley - can't kick and too slow
Fisher - can't kick - no good below knees
Grigg - can't kick
Bower - heart in my mouth when he gets it
Hampson - can't play
Cloke - dud
O'hailpin - no footy brain
Waite - too many brain fades
Gartttttletttt - too light and too many "t"s
Yarran - not interested apparently
Betts - drinks too much

Can't have these guys going forward (which apparently means in the future). The club are in trouble with them, really, it are.

It's a make or break year for the club.

My team for 2010:

B: Judd Judd Judd
HB: Judd Judd Judd
C: Judd Judd Judd
HF: Judd Judd Judd
F: Judd Fevola Judd
R: Warnock Kreuzer Judd

Int: Judd Judd Judd Boak

(Ah well, can only dream)...

Think Judd will do it tough holding down full back, seems out of his element there.

Yep, you're right. Full back has too much pressure for him at this point.

Hmmm...it might work, but you'd have to lose Boak who has been under the influence of an under performing coach in Neil Craig..and then along those lines..you'd need to drop Fevola,Kreuzer, and Judd...which only leaves Warnock...
oh..right...that Freo coach....nope....
Apart from that...looks pretty good.

My only expectation in 2010 is to play and win a home final. I can't stand reading and seeing and hearing all things Filth at the moment.

I want all that for the Blues.

Finals football and winning.

Mental toughness in our players they are soft (within the first 5 mins of that last quarter I knew we would loose and so did 15 or so other supporters who were watching that streaming).

Waving the ball around in the air with 5-8 mins left I assume its an indication of lets keep possession and slow it down. How many times did that result in a turnover or red time goal?

Laziness ie not runnin for your teammates stopping to a walk when ur oppenent runs off the ball.

Desperation against Brisbane they wanted that ball they wanted that final win we didnt.

Forward attacks not to go deep into pockets. ie shortest way home to a call is front and center

Defence specifically kick ins absolutely horrendous (stick some boots on my grandmother for a kick in she would do a better job)

Foward set up (maybe we should try a small guy like Garret at Fevs feet right side of goal to crumb a goal)

Good point at least we have lots of room for improvement and we know it can happen.

Players:-

End of Houihan, Stevens, Scotland cannot carry 3 players who give 12-20 mins of good game time and are invisible the rest of the time. Sorry to say Wriggler.

Needs a in and under player with respectable skills both sides of the body.

Waite or Carlos play in Kouta role.

:garthp: Yes, let's get rid of our best player in our first final for 8 years. One of only a handful that seemed to understand the urgency required.

My only expectation is that the board relent on selling an unlosable home game for financial gain and then as a result of doing it probably cost the club more money by losing the 4 points.

- Develop a less predictable and better functioning forward line
- Find someone at CHF who can provide consistency
- Find someone to get in the guts and free up Judd + feed Gibbs and Murphy (assuming Hadley leaves)
- Keep Warnock fit and get him and Hammer working as a team
- FIX THE FLOWERING KICK-INS
- Lift our defensive structures and application to a Top 4 level
- Keep working on the handball/kicking balance and hitting targets
- BULK UP
- Improve awareness, professionalism and 'gamesmanship' - eg. around the rucks and on the mark
- Get the new training facilities up and running, and keep building the development program
- Help the second tier players stuck in the Ants gain confidence and make progress
- Cut out the massive losses where we bleed goals
- Improve the quality of our assistant coaching selection (ie. we need at least 1 new injection who provides something better)
- Get the young team to focus harder and party less - keep out of the headlines
- Back up and make the finals again, hopefully aim for a prelim
- BEAT THE FLOWERING BOMBERS AT LEAST ONCE !!!

BUILD A SIDE THAT CAN WIN A FLAG IN 2011/2012
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck while Fevola's in the team.
After he and Alex were interviewed on the carpet and the interviewer kind of short-shifted Fev, did you see Fev hanging around behind someone else being interviewed hoping to get his mug on TV again?

Maybe he did it for you, so you could complain about him again!
