Ryan, the fact that Fev said at the 15 min mark of the 4th, he started to look towards the Doggies game, should tell you where the game was lost.

If one of our most senior and experienced players was doing that, you can bet a few others were too.

Everybody was. It's the mindset that we imply!

We think, "Ok, we have enough of a lead, let's go on the defensive so that we can play next week!"

It's crap! You don't see Geelong doing it????????????

KEEP GOING! KEEP PUSHING FORWARD!

4 quarter football, ESPECIALLY in finals!

I agree with all of that, except the Pussies part.

There was a stat on one of the footy shows recently stating that Geelong have one of the worst fourth quarter records this season, and are notorious for talking their foot of the pedal once they think they have the match in the bag.

Conversely, we had one of the best fourth quarter records this season.

But what is the stat for Geelong actually losing those games that they lead in?

Not sure. They didn't show that.

Considering their record, I assume they would (at the very least) win more than they lose, ie just do enough to hold on for the win.

But they don't (or haven't this season at least) bury teams in the 4th.

I hope the club send every player to the G tonight - front row.

Geelong led last years Grand Final during the 3rd quarter and lost it. I reckon that's the only stat they would care about.

For a team with the best fourth quarter stats IN THE WHOLE COMP - it was absolutely baffling how Brisbane ran over the top
of ua.

I'll promise you one thing, it won't happen as easy as that in a finals series again.

You really think they'd be able to get a ticket?

I agree. And they should be made to wave dildo's everytime Brisbane kicks a goal.

We held them off twice this year, they ran over us once.
Black and bradshaw are experienced guns.
Bower was on one leg.
Aj had been off the ground for a long time

ffs get some perspective people, we lost but it wasn't the worst loss ever.
If we had one more fit player available from our best 22 we might have got over the line.

It hurts but it's all experience. It's bloody hard to go from 15 th to a prelim in 2 seasons

I'm pissed off because i predicted it!

Even when Cloke kicked that goal, i still said we'd loose. Everybody watching that game with me said i was stupid, that i was too negative and had no idea............. but i knew!

IT WAS A MIRROR IMAGE OF THE PERVIOUS TWO GAMES AGAINST BRISBANE...............

We get off to a good start, and then go on the defensive. We become Too Affraid To Loose rather than Hungry To Win and as such, we let them back in the game cause they have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

EXACTLY like we did in the last two games against Brisbane.

Don't want to get started on Ratten (cause there are too many threads for that already) but this is the thing that frustrates me about him the most.

I Confess............... I'm pissed off because i saw it coming like a bad B-Grade sequal. :banghead:

(note:- At least i won money off it, that's how confident i was)

AGREE COMPLETELY. WE HAVE BEEN A CLUB THIS YEAR THAT DOES NOT LEARN FROM PREVIOUS ERRORS.

with Carlton's record from learning from past mistakes, I wouldn't bet on it
