Did the dildo end up the arse of some nancy who winged to the media?

Thats such a smallminded view... if you think of Polak... or Buckley and a taxi... or Fevola in Ireland.. or Greville street.. if you know what happened with the fire extinguisher... or a certain flat.. a few footballers and a girl...or what happens every friday night or weekend in melbourne??

Should it have to happen for us to say "Oh!!!..... that was a bad idea.."

Thats so outdated... so rugby league.... so passe...

And didnt happen yesterday.... but has happened...

Why encourage it????

Its not like it wont happen..... ever...and why !@#$%& up everythibg we have worked for ... cos of a Mad Monday???

... or maybe you can accept that no incidents occurred and the day was well controlled and organised? Two years now without incident on Mad Monday.

Well why would they go out and get into trouble during the season and come Mad Monday... theyre all beautifully behaved????

Wjhat the @#$%&! is wrong with them???

One thing i know alot more stuff happens... cos i know alot of them that do happen... that most people would never hear about....

.. most likely including you....

you mix alot of alcohol... and some of those blokes and some young kids and youre playing with fire...

how do i know that????

cos im not dumb to now know that....

Clubs are always running behind players wiping their arses for them...

Why???

Cos of a premiership..

Some of them dont even know how to withdraw money from the bank....

.. its all done for them.....

the problem is the day footballers leave the coccoon.. as the axe or age gets them...there is noone else there to wipe their arses after them...

... so again... why get them on the piss... even if its controlled???

you really would think its the ear when smart clubs educate their players for the future....

What do the sports scientists say about alcohol? Does it add any benefits? I found an article on the Australian Institute of Sport:
Australian Institute of Sport Article

Alcohol is an ergolytic aid to sports performance. This means that alcohol will detract from, not improve, exercise performance. Alcohol intake negatively impacts on a variety of psychomotor skills essential for successful exercise performance, including reaction time, balance and hand–eye coordination. Studies have also shown that drinking alcohol does not improve power, strength or endurance.

It is important to note it has both short term and long term issues:

Short term:
Binge drinking exacerbates soft tissue injury — Soft tissue injury management requires reducing blood flow to the area in order to contain the injury. Consuming alcohol has the opposite effect. It increases blood flow to the area, which is likely to extend recovery time following injury.

Long term:
In the long term, regular binge drinking can add significant kilojoules. People talk a lot about the carbohydrate in beer as the reason for men putting on weight. Beer contains very little carbohydrate, as the sugar in beer is converted into alcohol. It is the alcohol in beer, not the carbohydrate, that is responsible for weight gain.

Watching with great interest up to now.
To sit on the fence, I can see everyone's point, the guys have a few beers after a long hard season, ok, not the end result we all wanted, but not too bad either and enough to get a night out with the lads.

These nights are also good bonding sessions, from experience, but so is paintballing.
THe problem, I think, lies with the fact that they are professional, and as such are EXPECTED to act as such at all times as they are teh public face of the club. I dont know about any of you, but certainly in any job I have had you are reminded in your contract that nothing should be done to bring the company's name into disripute. Same at Christmas parties, to the point that anything that happens can lead to disciplinary procedures.

NOW, to allow this to happen, as I am not a member of the moral police and therefore can't say if it's right or wrong, would it be wrong or too difficult to hire a function room, have music, a casino night, strippers, pool tables, whatever, have staff on duty sign confidentiality clauses and let the lads at it? Then they could beat the sh1t out of each other with huge rubber strap on's if that what amuses them.

Just a thought.

I really enjoy having some bevvies with my mates and acting the goat......it's something that I believe i have the right to do...as long as we are still able to act in a reasonable manner....but that comes down to personal standards....

Having experienced CFC culture first hand in 94/95/96 they were complete and utter dirty bastards......except a couple....like Kouta, Ratten and Bradley....

When you get a large group of young men drinking too much alcohol you get terrible behaviour.....but it's their prerogative as long as it doesn't impact negatively on the public and they don't get abusive, destructive or violent.

In all honesty i'm a fan of getting pissed...it's theraputic, forms strong relationships and is a way of winding down and having massive amounts of fun. As long as it doesn't become habitual and you can keep it under control....

Better a night out on the turps after a long season than a night out sniffing white powder IMO.

Provided there are no anti-social incidents and that it's all hands on deck as soon as pre-season starts then I fail to see the fuss.

You can spend a night at a pub with mates and acting like a goose without getting shit-faced.

If waving a dildo around in a pub is the worst thing Fev does in the off season I'll be stoked.
