Anyone who has ever had their eye "touched" by a foreign object will respond.
Shitelli did not even touch his eyes?
Is he claiming he was eye gouged now, or did he comment to the umpires at the time?
Did Quarterbrain and Ten have any close up of his red eyes or even his rubbing them?
Has anyone seen a picture of Judd actually with his hand in the blokes eye?
Sure it was clumsy and not a good look but facts over media opinions/stories how the tribunal works.
I suspect Judd commented because he believes there is nothing in it.

The pressure point explanation is as bizzarre as the act was itself.

True. And the AFL can't condone that act as being a hell of a lot better than eye gouging.

Hitting someone's 'pressure point' is an effort to immobilise. The AFL can hardly sanction players running around trying to pull these stunts on the footy field.

Will be very interesting to see how this one goes. Normally I applaud Juddy's straight shooting when being interviewed but in this instance he should have kept the trap shut.

Judd was wrong. as much as it hurts me to say it, I think he should get a week or two for it. I'm very disappointed with him...

The dumbest thing Judd did was mention the pressure point. Otherwise this would've blown over as no forcful contact was made.

SEN strikes again.
Robbo was on Mark Doran's show saying this is an incident that Judd needs to answer for, which was all fair enough. Then they started talking about his pressure point excuse and whether that was worse than eye gouging anyway which is ridiculous.
Then it got farcical. Tony Schabeki?, came on and said he interviewed an expert on pressure points and introduced a Kung Fu Grandmaster who went on to say that in the wrong hands (or thumbs) pressure points can cause severe disturbance to internal organs. Tony then asked him if severe disturbance meant death and the Kung Fu master said yes. They then left it as Judd could have killed Richitelli because he isnt properly trained in pressure points. Robbo laughed at it but the other 2 accepted his theories as fact and that he was an undisputed expert and we have to take what he says seriously.
Science be damned.

Juddy is better than this sort of rubbish, very disappointed.

Excuse was infantile, what was he thinking?

Hope we're still playing Tiges in Rd 1.

Speaking on radio station 3AW this morning Barassi said: "I think the AFL would have to do something about this. This is very serious stuff and has a lot of effect through the football community. This is a shocking thing to discover that these sorts of things are being talked about, thought about and actually done."

"It's going to be very hard to get out of this because of the words from his own mouth" Barassi said.

"It's disappointing because this guy is a hero for many, many people, including myself. Because he's a great player, he's got strength, skill, the whole lot. And he seems to keep himself in good shape mentally and physically and he says the right things. He'll regret this day for a long while.

"The AFL has got to do something about it. This is one of the game's leading players, and leading idols, saying something like this ..."

It is a bit confusing. Thought the Lions player had Grigg in a sleeper hold and Judd was trying to make him release it. Should never have brought up the pressure point thing. Ridiculous.

William Cheung used to run a grubby little Kung Fu schools in the 1970s above grubby Chinese Restaurants in Chinatown (Melbourne) – for Mark Robinson, Mark Doran to accord this man as an expert in Chinese Psuedo Medicine and give him any sort of credibility is not only laughable but shows the depths that these grubby little bastards will do in their irrational hatred of anything Carlton.

Mark Robinson really went on to soil his own pants by calling Carlton’s loss a choke and describing Essendon*’s 96 point finals loss as just a small blimp in the radar.

Really Robinson you are a poultroon first, overweight second, stupid third and no doubt a full time drunkard – Dean Vernon Wormer was right its no way to go through life but you have turned it in to an artform.

..love the Juddles, and like family you can love them, and hate a given action they've done.. ..no doubt he's tarnished his reputation, the pressure point excuse was stupidity of the highest order, a soft, weak, gutless attempt to look like he's not an 'eye-gouger'.. ..when in effect, he is, and he tried to do it again [seemingly]..

..luckily for him, there's footage from a sneaky angle that gets a view between the entangled bodies that shows he didn't actually touch the eyes.. ..but the question screams what was he trying to do.. ..especially since he wasn't actively involved in the tangled up mess, but standing over them and reaching down to try and do something very, very questionable..

..it didn't look good, and with the whole brown incident back when he was weagles, he's gonna have the rep of being an eye gouger now, and there's sweet F.A he can do about it.. ..what's done is done, and it's now his cross to bare [and indirectly ours a bit]..

..he's rooted, pure and simple.. ..everyone now knows he was guilty as sin vs brown, and he got off.. ..won't happen a second time round, even though this time he didn't go all the way..

..blue chucks, footage i saw during the game seemed to be from the same angle, or a similar one in which it looked like he didn't.. ..but that shot sure as hell looks like he's goin' for broke.. ..very dissappointing, completely unneccessary,, and if shitelli was maulin' the blues player caught up in that mess, Juddles shoulda taken a different action.. ..even goin' the Setantrum boot up the date woulda been better than what he did.. ..eye-gougin' is right up there with the most dispicable of acts you can do on the footy field..

He didnt touch the blokes eye and can say what he likes the airport. He could say he was trying to rip his teeth out and doesnt come into play.

He was probably pis5ed at the airport and dreamt up the pressure point thing with fev for a laugh on the way home.

No big deal.

I know what you are saying BKB because it is a slightly different angle than the one I saw on TV too.

Maybe Canberra TV has a different feed? That screen grab was from the video on page 2 of this thread.

Also, things in stills look a hell of a lot different from video, and the other angles show Judd moving his hand around, so I very much doubt that there was much pressure in the fingers, more so his thumb which, given his "pressure point" excuse, seems logical.

But, by God that's the dumbest thing Judd has done, and is something he will regret when his career is over.

..i think it's obvious he didn't actually eye-gouge, purely from the reaction of shitelli.. ..what's concerning though is why he went for it in the first place.. ..we'll never know if he stopped himself, or if in all the wriggling his hand slipped, or god forbid in all the wriggling he just missed and was actually trying to go for it.. ..but, fact is he eye-gouged brown, and fact is it sure looked like he was trying it again.. ..if indeed he was trying some funky kung fu pressure point move?, even more ridiculous..

..either way, very poor, and extremely dissappointing coming from a player like himself..
