Standard and Poors.

Simmo should have been made vice captain last year IMO, so hopefully he can get a guernsey as co-vice with Gibbsalenko-you-beauty next year

I'd be inclined to try Fev as VC next year.

NS has been disappointing this season, not because he is VC, but because he is one of our most experienced and senior players.

He has let his body down and he has let the team down.

No excuses for being in poor condition after so many years as an AFL player.

Grade - 5/10.

..good player [when he really applies himself], below avg V.C.. ..simmo's not the vc answer, and Fevalenko certainly isn't.... ..VC options i reckon would be Carrots and Murphos..

His leadership needs to exist before it can be rated.

Time for Stevo to step down.
Sad to say but this year was the season when it became obvious he is in decline.
I think it would be great if he stepped aside to give someone else a shot

I think Waite or Simmo would be obvious, and I personally lean towards Waite because I think he has more of that fire-up presence, whereas Simmo does seem to go missing some games as someone else pointed out. Not really what you want from a VC

Fev would be a leftfield candidate, but could have huge potential upside.

If they want to throw a young kid in at the deep end, then I would lean toward Gibbs slightly. I think Murphy might be better off without the responsibility.

Having said that it's all about who the players respect, who will inspire the best out of them.
Would be happy to let them nominate the VC and then the MC to ratify it.

I avoided this thread for good reason, but at last I had a peak at your post B44.

I agree. Waite as VC.

I've said it for 2-3 years now, we're not really going anywhere until Murphy and Gibbs step up as leaders and they're able to do that regardless of whether they have the title of vice-captain or not. Part of that includes setting the example on field by playing accountable football.

Either Simmo or Carazzo would be good choices for next season.

He is in the last year of his contract in 2010. It will be very interesting to see how he presents himself for pre season training in a couple of months. If he presents well to me it will be an indication that he wants to go on, if he doesn't then it is curtains.
In terms of the VC it is time to give it to someone else. I'd give it to Fev.

It's how he presents himself when there is no new contract to be signed that should be the issue.

Agree DUC, if he has a good year he won't be the last bloke to somehow manage a good season in the last year of their contract.
