Putting it out there for discussion. I love him just as much as anyone else. But to me (and I'm only a distant spectator) he just doesn't seem to be very outspoken amongst the group. Sure his effort is inspirational in itself. But how good is he at motivating the team when it matters? Should we consider a new captain for 2010? If so who do you think would be best suited and why?

Please discuss.

No, we shouldn't.

The role of a Captain, in my mind, is a bit overrated. If you need someone to inspire you when you're out on the field I reckon you're probably a liability.

You should know your role and responsibilities, what's expected of you and the rest of it, without the need for someone to lead by example.

Someone at Carlton better than Judd as Captain? Can't think of anyone.

Jonathon Brown would appear to be the captain's captain. Leads by example, demeanour and voice.

Is this thread by Ump an indication that he is just not up to starting threads & should he leave it to others, for the good of TC - just putting it out there.

My question would be is:

What do we collectively value as the key attributes of a captain?

Once we have established that then we can judge him.

Personally I see him as the logical choice, once or twice I would have liked him to get the players together on the field and either give them a genuine spray, or rev them up.

That would be my only wish above and beyond what I have seen.

No this thread is an indication that this forum is full of trolls. Not one person has replied to the main question in the topic.

I give him 7. 1 point deducted for missing the goal, 1 point deducted for the eye gouge and 1 point deducted for not making us win.

I'll say this as plainly as I can. There are a lot of things you can question about this team and the players within, but the one thing you can take to the bank is that no-one within the hallowed halls of the Carlton Football Club is more suited to lead this young group than Chris Judd. We are blessed to have him, and should give thanks.
