Disappointing but not surprising...whenever we have gone into our shells we have been run over this season and whenever we have just backed ourselves we have overun sides ourselves which is what should have happened tonight.

The tactic in the last after we kicked that opening goal should have been to push for two more and then the game would have been won. Pretty piss poor finish to an improved season. When you lose a final from 30 up in the last you have some major issues that need addressing. Let's hope these are addresed and not forgotten...filthesque last qtr finish especially against a team with as many as us out if not more and major clouds over a few that played.

22. We won't make finals next year. Our draw will be a lot harder, we will play top 8 teams a lot more now we finished top 8.

We would be the softest team in the league. Why we have built a team based on Bulldogs style of play is beyond me!!!!!!!!!!!
Finals are won by tough, contested football or very well drilled teams where everyone knows their role and plays it well.

They better be savage in the list assessment this year. We look further away from a flag than ever.

I agree. We should fold. Lock the doors and throw away the keys.

Disappointing in the end. It was always one of those 50/50 games. Had it been played here it might have been 7 points our way. Just got to learn to win these type of games ..... learn how to put teams away during the home and away series then carry it through to finals.

The sad thing is that we didn't continue attacking in the final quarter (lost all belief) ..... we lacked the strength to drive home the advantage after the Cloke goal.

Tomorrow morning I'll really feel p1ss3d off but when I think back to the hammering that Adelaide gave us last week I know there's a fair bit of work to go before we match it with the big boys. Hopefully the power brokers at Carlton are in conference as I write this ... planning the next phase.

Shattered, gutted, numb and heartbroken - I can't believe it.
We'll learn from this but it is a long way back to this point.
What a season you have to be proud of the boys for their efforts in making it this far.
Still alot of dead wood in this team which will hopeful get sorted out in the offseason.

Dont kid yourself... Cloke, Wiggins, Grigg, Johnson will still be in the mix next year.

Your only as good as your bottom 6 and ours is up there with the weakest in the comp.
We made finals because of one reason only... our top 5 players are stars and they carry us all week every week.

This loss will hurt the club, we dont have the coaching staff or personal around the club to help our boys recover from this

I understand what you're saying, but please give it a rest with the bottom 6

Who the @#$%&! are you Robert Walls??

It's just some stupid "in" phrase from June or July. Every team has a bottom tier, all that matters is how they play together as a team.

Bottom 6 = :garthp:

Move on FFS :banghead:

Cloke is a chance to be cut. None of those names are in our first 22. Who is this top 5?

Yup. Adelaide smashed us in Melbourne. They smashed Essendon* even more in Adelaide. They would've killed Brisbane either at the Gabba, in Melbourne or at AAMI.

We are where we are at right now, along with Brisbane who aren't exactly streets ahead of us.

We will play top 8 sides twice next year, not bottom 8 sides. Next year we will play Freo, Melbourne once, Geelong, Saits etc twice.

The AFL equalisation policy will be in full effect. Sustained success is the hardest thing to achieve in a lop sided draw. If you think we will cruise into a top 4 spot after that soft effort.... can I have some of the shit you are on???

Never said we'd cruise into top 4. I disputed you saying we wouldn't make the 8. Twist my words as you please though.
