How we allowed blokes like Brennan, Johnstone and Sherman to have an influence on the game, I will never understand.

You cooked our senior players early in the final quarter Ratts, and it cost us the match.

Bang on two more after Cloke's opener to the final quarter and it would have panned out differently.

All up we didn't do too badly, other than losing to complete spuds that are the Lions. We have a Brown (Fev) and we have a Black (Judd) but we don't have a Bradshaw, yet. That's all that separated us tonight.

I'll keep thinking back to the fact Judd played in three losing elimination finals with West Coast before things started going his way.

And the fact Brisbane are going to get smashed next week.

No they won't, most of the players do not even care, they will be on the grog tonight for a few weeks and then come back as if nothing happend

We need a new coach who will not play dumb football, Blight is right

If Voss coached us we would of won by 10 goals tonight

On a positive note, we didn't cough up our final in the manner that Essendon* did. Poor finish, but a lot to like on the season. We copped some ordinary umpiring tonight too.

OK everyone I got a good one for you ... today is actually my birthday .... its 9.30 in the morning over here in Brazil .... have a whole lotta people coming over in about 2 hours .... talk about why should I bother. Absolutely crushed!

Went from thinking man this is gonna be the best birthday ever when Cloke kicked that goal and we were 28 points up .... to ... gee where's the rope!

One thing has to be said ... our inexperience cost us. They did not win it we lost it.

Nothing like chocking like that ... hope they are hurting 50% as much as me at the moment!

Still in disbelief that we lost it ... absolutely, no doubt about it, super, mega, hyper crushed!

Happy birthday to you, you live in a zoo, you look like a monkey and and the team u support plays like one too!

That loss is going to hurt.

Hope they learnt that its a 4 qrt game..

Shows our deficiency in the backline badly and how 1 player focused our forward is....

Disagree, Cam was a solid secondary target and really surprised me tonight.

Backline was undermanned, that was a selection mistake. Burning out our better players before the middle of the last was a woeful decision.

Don't even get me started there!!! :hitcomputer:
An incredibly biased umpiring effort. They umpired to 2 sets of rules - one for them and a sh!te one for us!

Yeah that too. A single goal in the last quarter was never going to be enough.

Our entire season was just compressed into 4 quarters. We saw the best of Carlton and the worst of Carlton.

Gutted.

Should never, ever lose a game like that.

And McLaren should never, ever umpire again.

But I believe he's been inked in for Rd 1 2010, Carlton v Richmond.

I'm not shattered.

We didn't have it in us to go too deep anyway.

If anything a loss right now will point to our definciencies and there will be work done in the recruitment area.

Well done boys anyway for a very enjoyable season (apart from the Essendon* losses).

Yes, we could have won but 2009 was never going to be our year to push for anything...I think a loss here was pretty much where we were at.

Like I said in the match thread, they have run us to 1 goal in both games this year - we leak like a sieve and they finish like a freight train against us.

I am so pissed off losing to Brisbane whom I fraking hate, and now have to hear about how good Brisbane are for the rest of the week and year.

frak

FFS, we sure better recruit a backline this year. Brown and Bradshaw esp got it fairly easy tonight.

Waite & Jamison perhaps? 10 goal win with them in.

What happened tonight is exactly what happened in the losses again Collingwood, Adelaide and Essendon*. An inability to sustain defensive pressure through the middle . The better side won.
I'm over it and look forward to next year. They have 6 months to work on this.

We lost to a team that had less experience than us and was younger. But they had enormous spirit.

Very Disappointing!!!
