Disgraceful.
What are we teaching our youngsters?
GO out on the piss let the team down and you'll all come straight back in the following week?
Why is Garlett in for Yaz? Yaz didn't go out drinking, Yaz didn't let the team down, Yaz did play a decent game last week in my opinion....and yet we're bringing in an 18 year old kid that you cant say will set the world on fire, but did break team rules....

I just dont get it.

If Bradshaw plays, we're in a lot of trouble. Cloke's selection is outrageous.

I just dont get it!!!!!!!

I'm not too confident about covering Brown or Bradshaw without any second choice options down back to cover them. It also gives Brennan a free run as Cloke can't swing back to cover him if Brown and Bradshaw are held..

the most pathetic backline I've seen all year...

seriously what are the selectors thinking. When you have Walker lined up at CHb you know your in trouble, let the kid run and let him explode.

Instead we'll just drop Setants and Brown and Bradshaw can have a picnic.

The Irish has been rubbish the last three weeks - better off with out them

Time for Bower to redeem himself against Bradshaw

We look quick

Short again in the back half, Irish must play as the swingman option, because Kruze, Cloke and Shaun can't.

Perhaps the club know something about Bradshaw not playing??

I am very worried about Brennan. Can we please match him up at all times.

Kreuzer spent some time behind the ball when playing in the ruck last week.
I'd expect the Ruckmen to drop back and play loose in the backhalf after the centre square ruck contest, and Cloke to to all the bullocking work against Clarke forward of centre. He's not as tall or as classy as Clarke, but he'd be stronger. Wiggins will be expected to drop into Brown's space, so Brown will compete with Thornton/Wiggins at every contest, with the ruckman protecting the space.
We've sacrificed an extra tall for more defensive mids and runners. We're gonna win or lose this in the middle.

We look pretty thin on paper.. really thin. I reckon 206 wouldve made a big difference just to spark us a bit.
Even play him forward to stretch their defence at times.
Really need the backline to play like they did against Port/ Cats if we're any chance..

We also look short, and Cloke will have someone running off him all night.

The Irish has been questionable, Cloke more so.

Walker is about to be asked to play as a tall defender...

not necessarily the line-up. the sleection. Who have we got on that time that can line up on brown/Bradshaw. This isn't like last time when Bradshaw had to pay in defence on Fev. They have Merret and Drummond now. On paper they look about a 5 goal better team.

I presume Hammer has had a recurrence of the back injury and won't play. No-one could be so stupid as play three ruckmen. It means we will be a man down most of the game as we can only effectively have two on the ground at one time.

Big K hasn't played as a forward (except for the occasional rest in the pocket) all year so it would be crazy to decide to try him out as CHF in a final when we have chosen not to test that all year. If Cloke is the answer why hasn't he played in the second half of the year? We had a structure that won us 8 out of ten and lost to two sides who were much better than us. 5 changes last week 4 tonight. It's like deck chairs on the Titanic. 9 changes in two weeks going in to the finals for a side that has won 8 out of 10 is very hard to understand.

Expect the Lions to win. What happens if TBird struggles on Brown or if Clarke cuts loose. Who chases Brennan if he runs in the ruck?

Not happy, not confident.

Aside from Brown and Bradshaw the Lions aren't tall up forward. And one of those may not play. If they push a ruckman forward then we may be exposed, but it depends on delivery too. Walks can play taller and may take Brennan when he drifts up, but otherwise the Brisbane forwardline is little taller than ours.

Dunno about Walker as a defender.

It reminds me of Lappin or Houla in the backline... they were ok there but much better suited elsewhere.

Garlett for Yarran is alright with me.

Yarran should easily eclipse Garlett in a year or two, but for now Garlett is handling AFL level footy better IMO.

For me Garlett is the sort of player that finds the ball, finds space - looks on the verge or doing something spectacular...

...then fails in the execution.

That said, you could have the best hand, foot and finishing skills in the league - but if you can't get in then vicinity of the ball what's the point?!

Can't believe Setanta is out - do you think Cloke's previous form against the Bears was a factor?! How'd he go with the Ants?!!

I can not believe we are going to go in with this small a backline. Surely the Irishman must come in to play back. I realise he is not the best one on one defender, but play him on brown or bradshaw and release either Thornton or Bower to play third man up, a role they both do well. Unfortunately neither of them are fantastic defenders one on one.

Agree with you there. No Jammo, no Waite, no Austin ... surely you'd want Carlos tehre to give you options.

I realise Grigg had a good game for the ants last week, but consistent form it has not been. He is a very lucky boy.

I'm guessing his inclusion is the MC looking beyond this year. He'd be considered as an integral part of this developing team going forward and they want to get finals experience into him.
Same for O'Hailpin!

27 pages.

It's a given this thread will be the longest PMD thread in TC history...

...wonder why?!

Good running team picked. I think that is the best way to tackle these Bears. Ohalphin wouldnt be able to do as good a job on Brown or Bradshaw than THornton or Bower. Cloke is in better form than Ohalphin at the moment.

Garlett puts forward pressure on for longer and is smarter at it than Yarran so he is a better option.

Its up to the boys now to come out and play hard but fair for 100mins.

Fair enough Warnock for Carlos, but Cloke. :screwy:

Me thinks the MC still have memories of his 4 goals @ Gabba last year, one his best games for the CFC. Horses for courses?

Don't like the look of that back line. Praying that Bradshaw doesn't play.

If Brownshaw get on top what other options do we have?

The inclusion of Cloke isn't to bad but it's relying on our mids to get the upper hand.
