At least we have a fair few players who did well in the twos on the weekend. There are a few players who have put their hand up for a spot and may get a go.

Out:
Hadley (inj)
Cloke
Betts
Garlett
Anderson

Ins:
Army is in for sure.
Hammer or Jacobs in for Cloke.
Austin in for Ando.
Then I guess it depends on matchups/team balance:
Yarran in for Betts.
Ellard in for Garlett?? But I can see Browne or Johnson getting this spot.

This is a lot of changes, but I don't think it will cause us to lose. I think if we turn up for the game ready to go from the opening bounce, then we will win. That will be the key factor. Otherwise Adelaide will jump us and it could get very ugly. Not expecting to see that though as a home final and playing Adelaide should be all the motivation they need.

Blues by 3 goals. And Ratts to surprise some by giving Craig a coaching lesson.. (well, I can hope can't I)

I'll make a case for AB even though he is not a 'fashionable' inclusion.

AB managed 29 possessions on Sunday whilst heavily tagged. He earned every disposal. No cheap kicks. His opponent even followed him on and off the bench. At that level at least, the opposition rate him.

Grigg on the other hand and likewise Johnson, were not tagged.

Going into a cut throat week or two, I think we need a hard nut who can keep his head and handle the pressure. I have serious doubts that either Johnson or Grigg can and I don't think we can afford that against a well drilled unit like Adelaide.

I agree actually...don't think Grigg has shown enough. Bentick (with the possibilty of Pfeiffer) is the only player we can bring in who has the ability to get in and under and feed our running players.

I wish we played Bentick rather than Grigg. At the very least we know we'll find him at the bottom of the packs when the game is on the line. That is significantly more than we can bank on the other options. It's exactly what we're losing with Hadley even if he's not up to Hadley's level. The last thing we need is another outside midfielder going into this game.

With the additional 'outs' my changes would be

out - betts, garlett, cloke, hadley, anderson
in - yarran, armfield, ellard and 2 of hampson, jacobs and warnock (kreuzer to play permanent forward due to bock's absence)

can ellard play? if he can big call one week before finals.
in: armfield jacobs yarran browne
out: hadley garlett cloke betts
they won't want to make more than 4 changes. hampson is still injured im told and wont be ready and we dont want to go to tall at etihad. browne has been very good at bullanst level and can play small fwd or back. be a toss up between jacobs and warnock for ruck spot.

I think they will be the right moves.

Browne's inclusion will realise Houlihan forward. MUST.
Armfield to the backline, where he has been exceptional as well.
Jacobs will ruck with Kruezer. Tick.
Time has come for Yarran. Gets his chance.

Yeah, i'm going for Browne's inclusion also.

Outs:- Cloke, Betts, Garlett (all suspended), Hadley (inj)

Ins:- Warnock / Jacobs, Yarran, Browne, Armfield

Love to see Warnock get a shot. Just to throw a suprise at Adelaide.

In - Hammer, Jacobs, Yarran, Bentick, Army

Out - ++++ Ando

A bit of a re-shuffle. Setanta to defence, Hammer and Jacobs to take ruck, Kreuz to CHF. Yarran for Eddie, Army for Ando and AB for Hadley.

Why would you drop Ando?
Personally I would not like to make 5 changes...
I would leave Ellard out and give Anderson a go playing through the midfield (I think he'd be great at ball ups etc) playing Hadleys role for some part, and up forward for a bit. Give him a chance to play a free attacking game and just say show us what you can do, cos I believe he's got it.

We're forced to make 4 changes - I'd go another and try to get a bit of grunt back into the side. If we go in against Adelaide too small we'll get flogged. Ando is okay if he's surrounded by other I & U players.

We're coming to the pointy end of the season, we can't be too soft when it comes to selection. Just because you play an acceptible game against Melbourne, shouldn't give you automatic selection against Adelaide.

Well Ratts has now confirmed that Armfield and Yarran are definite inclusions and hinted that Hammer would more than likely be back and if not (small chance) then Jacobs is in line before Warnock

Just heard the press conf on SEN

So I'm assuming it will be:

In: Armfield, Yarran, Hampson/Jacobs, ?

Out: Betts, Cloke, Garlett, Hadley

Still one in missing BF.

Not sure who though.

I'd say Carrazzo would do Hadley's role and either Grigg or Browne will be brought in to play in defence. I'd go with Browne personally.

I would move 1AW to the forward line for an X-factor. He is good on the ground and in the air

I agree. Kreuzer might have to play a fair portion of the game up foward too.

Why? Then we're too tall in the forward line, or are we throwing Setanta into defence?

Does anyone have an update on Austin? Has now missed two games and is still not listed amongst our injuries. Can he come straight back in if required?

Johnson looked out of his depth from the first bounce against the Pies, it was obvious to me and others near me watching the game.

Hope the MC noticed this for the next serious team they may want him to play against.

In time he may take his game to another level and handle the better teams, but not for now.
