Agree with the point about JR at ground level, which is why his form in defence has surprised me. So long as that isn't exposed, I'm more than happy to have his run and carry from HB.

He was brilliant at times today; it's like he doesn't feel the lactic build-up until 250 metres into a sprint.

EDIT: *shakes fist at cheap keyboard*

...sorry but isn't that usual?

Not knocking JR, think he's tops.

When was the last time you did about 250 metres (well over the field length) of sprints inside a minute?

When he gets going, JR's repeat efforts are amazing.

Ummm...I used to run the 400 in high school and the lactic acid didn't usually hit until the straight, ie. 300m mark. Which is by no means talking myself up as an athlete, just making the point that's usually the mark of when it happens. Ask anyone who runs that distance, it's pretty common.

JR is amazing though, no one is saying that he's not. Anymore.

Used to run it myself, but it's a bit different in a footy game. The lactic acid starts building no matter what so if you're stopping and starting, that minute of repeat flat-out sprints can actually be worse.

We're going back and forth a bit now, suffice to say what Jordy does would make a good chunk of his peers dizzy or puke. :P

Probably play Joey there and Armfield will come straight back in...

Must win game now with Lions getting up after being 47 points down........Port are crap....

If Lions beat the Swans 6th spot is theirs and a home final...

Win or draw is a must next week........ Players need to harden the truck up....

Why was he disappointing for you?

Joey could not keep up with Robertson, constantly behind him. Got smashed by him.

I normally am a fan of his, but not today.

I reckon we are betting off with Port getting done...we are at our best we are not relying on other teams. A home final is now in our hands...we win next week we are there....

Would Hadley have kept up with Joey?

Someone needs to step up and take on the in and under role of Hadley...1AW??? Not sure if Grigg is suited to this role. Bentick... :sly:

Thought his handballing was creative today... and Hadley hasnt won a stack of clearances....

Joey is courageous..

Id like to find out...

Would Grigg be a better option inside ?

Hadley is the one that needs to be replaced...

Has the Chief secured himself a spot? He's played well the last two weeks & is hard at the ball.

HF: Heath Scotland - Setanta O'hAilpin - Andrew Walker
C: Kade Simpson - Bryce Gibbs - Andrew Carrazzo
HB: Ryan Houlihan - Paul Bower - Jordan Russell
FB: Aaron Joseph - Bret Thornton - Dennis Armstrong
RU: Matthew Kreuzer - Marc Murphy - Chris Judd
IC: Shaun Hampson - Simon Wiggins - Nick Stevens - Shaun Grigg
EM: Cameron Cloke - Christopher Yarran - Steven Browne

In: S. Hampson - D. Armstrong - S. Grigg
Out: C. Cloke - R. Hadley (inj) - J. Anderson

Pretty easy selections this week, I'd imagine. If Tex can play in the midfield I'd like to see Yarran get a go, but if Yarran wasn't even in the team this week there is no way he gets played in such an important game.

Joey was very good apart from being beaten by Robbo on the lead a few times. Haven't seen him play midfield, seems a long shot to assume he'd succeed in there in finals
