It's a big worry... I'd rather be meeting St. Kilda or Geelong rather than Essendon* in our first game.

Lets just hope we finish 4th!!!!!

I agree. Against these top teams we play with no fear and attack with thirst for blood.

I'm too scarred to cope with the idea of playing the scum with so much at stake :(

I would look at it the other way...playing the scum may be just what we need to take our minds off playing in a final....as thoughts of their recents defeats over us will be the spur we need. Saints or Cats are seasoned finals campaigners so it may be tough to come up against these two.

Of course we may still need to win our last two to guarantee a home final as one win may see us up in Brizzy. In any case I reckon it will be a perfect scenario to play the scum in week one.

I see what you're saying, and I agree that beating them would be extremely cathartic. But when you say that the boys should be spurred by what they've done to us before, we've been saying that each time we've played them and it hasn't made a difference.

Maybe I'll warm to the idea in time, but right now I'm too scarred and defeated to conceive of risking my heart being broken again :(

Handy win by Melbourne today, The wont wanna risk another victory and cost themselves a priority pick.

Another percentage booster for the Blues would be handy

Can't see doggies losing their last two games. Geelong and Collingwood. You would think they would win at least one of those. In which case we won't make 4th.

The equation is simple. We win our next two, Doggies lose their next two, we're 4th.

Same equation for the Crows too. They beat us and WC (and Doggies lose their next two), they're 4th.

No matter what happens though, that last game against the crows will be HUGE.

We're currently about 10% behind the Dogs right now, can't rely on percentage. If they win one game, they've sealed 4th.

Sorry Doggies (and Sedat), you're probably the 2nd team for a lot of people here, but we have to barrack against you the next two weeks methinkgs. Nothing personal, just business.

With the Doggies playing the Cats and Pies (2nd and 3rd) and us playing the Dees, the rd 22 game at the dome against adelaide will be MASSIVE...we should make the AFL change our game to Friday

Were going to be cheering for the Pies in round 22 if we beat the dees and crows, and the cats beat the dogs :donk:

Would Collingwood do an Essendon* circa 2001 to avoid us getting 4th?

And we play Adelaide at Etihad at the strange starting time of 4.10pm :screwy:

lol, i wouldnt worry about the bombers if we play them.

carlton is guilty of one thing, not turning up when they think its goign to be easy.

come finals time, if a single player on our list thinks its going to be easy, then they shouldnt be playing afl.

finals, and with what is at stake, i just cant help but feel carlton will rise to the occasion and we will play some of our best football.

its been the story all year. against the better sides we have done well, with the exception of the pies game.

outside of that we have

lost to the saints, by 9 points (houla kicks the goal and we win)
beaten geelong by 30+
beaten dogs by 40+
beaten pies once, lost once
beaten lions twice
hopefully we beat adelaide, and go into the finals with a 1-1

eight, its hard to know who will finish 8.

but considering that and the way our season has unfolded, i cant help but feel somewhat quietly confident going into the finals :) with us anything could happen :)

..agreed, i don't reckon the bummers are much this finals, purely cos they're running out of puff and their injuries are really takin' a toll.. ..i think this year who-ever get's 8th is a step off the rest, with the Saints just a small step above the other finalists.. ..the finals series is gonna be much like the season, very even.. ..anything could happen this year..

So what will be the story with finals tickets allocation?

Do we simply register our barcode numbers on the ticketek/ticketmaster website and purchase tickets online or would we have to visit a ticket outlet or purchase from the venue?

It has been way too long since our last finals campaign so I can't really recall how we go about getting tickets...

Feel free to point me in the right direction if this has already been mentioned!
