the only significant things i could think of off the top of my head were:
- finished high school
- cat died

then i remembered my holidays!!! in typical uni lifestyle fashion, i have managed to pi$s off at least once or twice a year in the last few and have seen
italy, france, spain, greece, croatia, dubai (uae), USA, Russia (dont ask), singapore and hong kong.

now on the verge of finishing uni and looking for full time work, and its terrifying!! i'll b going from 4 uni hours + 15 retail hours to 38+ a week.... plan to make the most of this summer before reality bites...and itll all b a bit sweeter if we could pinch #17!!!

Also forgot the most important part.

Converted new wife into a AFL fan (she used to hate it) and a staunch Carlton supporter with Santy her fav.

Better still completely corrupted her daughter to the point she is fanatical -loves Fev and Eddie and even noticed last week Eddie had new boots.

Quit job
Sold home
Took 18 months off
Had a daughter
Drove combi down the east coast with partner and 5 month old
Started business
Worked 7 days a week
Moved house
Moved again
Stopped moving
Worked 6 days a week
Had dinner parties
Drank good wine
Laughed a lot
Had more dinner parties
Drank better wine
Laughed some more
Worked 5 days a week

Overall the workload's getting less and the wine's getting better and there's still a lot of laughter about.

Pretty good 8 years all up.

At the start of 2002 I moved to the UK. So for much of the time I have been blaming my absence for Carlton's poor form. This only heightened when I came back to Oz for a couple of weeks in 2004 and saw us thrash Geelong by 50 + points in my first game back. The following week I saw us lose to the Kangas on the last kick of the day.

Oh in that time I re-married and recently had a baby. Life's good but still hoping to get back to Oz and the Blues maybe next year (been saying that for years though)

Thankfully the same wife and a few new additions to the household
The same business which has it's good and bad moments, but generally good.
Gave up cricket and football
Missed both and went back to playing at lower levels...realised the ship had sailed and retired again
Missed both... again...until the aches and pains set in when it was cold and/or wet then didn't miss either
Paid off the mortgage...obviously missed being in debt so bought two new properties.
Intended to travel a bit more, but didn't... see new additions and addiction to property.
Lots of good times with friends and family.
A number of renovations.

Devastated by Carltons fall from grace, but all up a good few years and the Blues are on the up again

Good idea for a thread Molsey, although it is sobering to read that it hasn't been smooth sailing for everyone  Puts football into a bit of perspective.

Turned 30 in 2001. By mid-2003 I had to give up playing footy because of injuries.

In 2004 I decided to try my hand at coaching and did an asistant coaching role. Decided I wanted the top job at a club and did that for two years in 05 and 06. Went back to asistant coaching in 2007 before taking over the top job mid year when the coach was sacked due to his poor record.

At the end of 2007 we secured a great mid-fielder I like to call "The Champ".

Still in the head coach position and hope to coach the team in a finals series this year.
