Agreed, Wiggo should be dropped instead, both had similar (little) impact on friday night, but one has a future, the other doesnt unfortunately

How does 8/1 sound?

Just watched replay of port/freo match and we'll spank them. . .our strength lately has been we've been putting 22 guys on the park who play for each other. Port has several guys, and yeh ill name them. . shaun burgoyne, davenport, surjan, gray, pettigrew, and westhoff all who play purely for themselves, and in the cases of westhoff and pettigrew, arent any good so trying to stand out should be the las thing on their mind. . .burgoyne's foot skills make armfield and jordy russel circa 2007 seem like simon black and chris judd and his chasing when the ball is turned over is poor at best. . Pettigrew makes too many errors, total dud.

they've got no players (except boak, lade, tredrea and k. Cornes) worth poking a stick at.

Watching last week i saw davenport run to 60m on the boundary with 2 players (boak and cassisi) running on his inside and one opponent directly infront of him and another zoning off 15/20m further ahead. Instead of drawing the man and handpassing to the longer option, who could then draw the 2nd opponent into the corridor, and closer to space already covered by other opponents, thus creating space for cassisi, he passed the short handball to cassisi who by the time he went to handball to boak, he was covered by broughton who'd run from the opposing flank to fill the space and their 3 on 2 scenario was ruined and fremantle got the ball. . .now this wasnt freo's zonal pressure which caused the turnover, it was a simple f*ckup which the most amateur under 18's teams are being drilled in.

Westhoff isnt the answer for port. I pity a champion like tredrea, who was nearly pushed out forcefully because people claimed keeping him in the side affected westhoff's development. Tredrea has kicked around 50goals this year, and westhoff has gone backwards. . Keep the star and make the hack kid watch him closely if he'll ever be any good as an afl player.

I wont mention the likes of ebert and motlop, as they're not even good enough to mention (seriously, jokes aside, troy longmuir is a better player than ebert)

Brogan/lade combination is a legit threat. . Carlile is a decent player, who has fev's measure somewhat, but even he had a shocker last week. . The chad is the chad, watch him be beaten to the footy by chief wiggins and his hunger for the ball and then tell me he's top 10 in the comp mike sheahan!

I respect kane cornes. . .he'll chase juddy hard but the likes of murph, stevo, and simmo will dominate this match.

I've been a big fan of hadley's past 2 weeks. His inside work releases judd etc and his work goes un-noticed.

Expect walker to play forward for the most part. . AAMI is a nice big ground where his speed will make him dangerous with fev, carlos, eddie and wiggins up forward.

I hope The Chad plays as a lose/spare man in defence.

I'd enjoy seeing him drop into the space in front of Fev.

Cassisi to keep playing

Quote:
Port Adelaide captain Dominic Cassisi has had surgery to repair his frontal sinus fracture but will be available to play Carlton at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.

Cassisi sustained the injury in a clash during the Power's game against the Hawks and wore a helmet to protect his forehead in the match against Fremantle on the weekend.

The 26-year-old underwent a minor procedure to remove the dent from his head on Monday and missed training on Wednesday. But the club is confident he'll be available to play in Round 21.

If Cassisi does play; I will stand up, and applaud him.

Takes a lot of guts to do what he's doing.

He's either pretty damn brave, or pretty damn crazy; or both. :donk:

And I'll applaud the first Carlton bloke to take his helmet off with a fair bump....

PORT Adelaide's Chad Cornes is ready to renew his love-hate affair with Brendan Fevola, saying he's itching to "get under the skin" of the Carlton star on Sunday. "They're a team I don't like, to be honest," Cornes said. "I like playing Carlton and it's fair to say we probably don't love each other as two clubs. There's a few players in the Carlton opposition that we'd like to get under their skin."

This guy really does deserve a good old fashion Earl Spalding on Guy McKenna job.... What a t0sser 'The Chad' is!!!

Had a dream last nite.
The boys were a tribe, and had war paint on.
May be that their intent is well and truly back.
And/or....The Chief will be in!
Go boys...I think we might smash 'em.

Chad Cornes won't rattle Brendan Fevola

Quote:
CARLTON coach Brett Ratten says Port's Chad Cornes can try all he likes to taunt Brendan Fevola in their clash on Sunday.

Cornes started the mind games ahead of the match at AAMI Stadium this week when he said he was itching to "get under the skin" of the Blues' spearhead.

Ratten said Cornes wouldn't be the first to single Fevola out for verbal treatment, but he didn't expect it to trouble him.

"I think he (Fevola) has got the steeliness to stay focused and in the game and with the right attitude, I think he'll get out on top," Ratten said on Thursday.

"If he (Cornes) wants to get under his guard, let him have a go and maybe we might get under his.

"I don't think we have to worry about Brendan with his mindset in the game, I think he has played footy long enough, he's an experienced campaigner.

"Would Chad Cornes be the first to verbally attack Brendan Fevola on the football field? Brendan has played 200 games, he's probably got a list of 150 blokes plus others that have chipped in as well.

"He won't be the first and he won't be the last."

I dislike The Chad just as much as the rest of you (more probabally, because I have to put up with him in the media all the time over here), but I don't mind him mouthing off in the media right now.

He's just trying to fire up his own team, and also convince the Swampies that it's actually worth while getting along to the match.

If enough Carlton supporters head over from Melbourne, we may actually outnumber them at the ground.

From the CFC website, it looks like Austin, Cloke and Garlett are in, think Wiggins was dropped (named as emergency)

Hope Cloke doesnt play

Carazzo is a shoe in, ditto Hadley.
Austin will play if fit, leaving the last spot between Robinson, Wiggo or Garlett. For me, garlett's pace and intelligence puts him in the team

Who to come in if anyone? I'd think Garlett would be the only to get a call up who would probably be a good inclusion...

His speed and defensive pressure would be a bonus, particularly up our forward line... Unfortunately for Hadley he may be the unlucky out perhaps...

So, from that... Carrazzo and Hadley are definites on the bench... Cloke is a definite no... Which leaves 2 of Robbo, Wiggo, Austin and Garlett.

Hadley won't get dropped Ratts was full of praise for his efforts the last few weeks

Unless someone is injured there will be no change

If Garlett came in for anyone it would be Robbo - but that will happen next week

Yeah Garlett would be the only chance is what i'm saying... the only one really knocking on the door. Cloke's been good, but he's just not the type of player we need in our team atm... Garlett's pace would be useful is what i'm saying, but who's form from last week justifies omission... i don't know.

Will probably be an unchanged line up at the end of the day and i'm happy with that.
