I think Murphy has what it takes to be a similar player to Gary Ablett.

Great lateral movement, creative in the 50 and a real goer. Probably doesn't have as strong a core, especially in the hips and thighs, but skills and mindset aren't far off.

I agree.

And after watching the Geelong game, I reckon Gibbs is already as good as Ablett is now, and definetely better than Ablett at 20yo.

Kreuzer Judd Gibbs Murphy: The Fab Four.

And when Walker hits his straps in the next couple weeks we'll have the Fab Five.

And all of them are going to turn out better players than Ablett over the span of a career, not 8 games.

Isn't Joseph a better player than Ablett at the moment?

Judd has surpassed Ablett?

I think if we're being honest, Ablett in some eyes held the lead for 50m of the Melbourne Cup.

People get carried away sometimes.

Ablett's a great player, but given all the assistance he got from his teammates in 2008, he had every opportunity to showcase his skills. Now that life's a bit harder at Geelong, he's not looking quite so brilliant.

When they end their careers, Judd will be seen as a better player, because he just keeps grinding out quality season after quality season. Maybe Ablett's highlights package will be better.

The only thing certain is that by the time Judd and Ablett Jr retire Mike Sheahan will have changed his mind 100 times.
