- Many pleasing aspects of our game...

- Aaron Joseph played well

- Jordan Russell played well (compared his rise in form to Greg Broughton and noted that the latter was much older)

- Asked of finals, wants to focus on every game, if they do, result will come

- Scouted Port's game against Hawthorn, commented on their ferocity without the ball

- Asked about tough changes made to the 22, commented that sometimes it is helpful to give a player to fine-tune their game

- Pressed further, talked about generating enthusiasm for playing in the 22; right not a privilege

- Discussed Carlton's game against St Kilda, then discussed St Kilda's structure/system, mentioning St Kilda's record number of tackles (thanks KB..)

- Discussed Setanta's form, the journey, etc. Ratts very happy with his form, spoke of his growing self-belief, and his exception ground level ability for a big man

- Marc Murphy's form; KB enjoys that he's become a goal kicking midfielder, Ratts made a note of his improving defensive work and its importance

- Warnock's status, expecting close to a full VFL game from him this week, believes either he or Jacobs will feature in the next fortnight, discussed his added kilos, praised his skill level

- Jamison's status, still being assessed, received an injection last week (presumably cortisone)

- Walker's return, compared to Waite for flexibility within 22, Ratts admitted that he may have come in a little early, but that gap between the VFL and AFL was something of an issue

- Sometimes flicks on the telly and kicks back after a Friday night game, especially if they win

None of those are direct quotes, but it gives you the idea of the discussions

Is that Brought the Sport?

In the heat of battle Parko said on ABC radio early in the match against Geelong that Setanta presents and marks well but still lacks awareness and understanding.

I rate Parko highly and IMO his team's commentary is the best but I think by the end of the game he would have to change his opinion. Setanta looked as stunned as everyone else when he marked the kick-in but taking that mark was Fevola-esque or Judd-esque. He's come from a long way back and it's exciting to see him come on in leaps and bounds. Who knows how far this guy will go?

He honestly looked like he was trying to count the metres between himself and the goalsquare.

He'll probably do the same next time, but go the big stiff arm for a fend off.

Same happened to Garlett in VFL Saturday and same result as Carlos.

By much older does he mean a month??

Broughton - 29 September 1986
Russell - 6 November 1986

I think the implication was that they were both late bloomers, but listening I thought he was suggesting there was a significant gap.

His exact words were "he's actually older than Jordan".
